You can still get requests on 60's during Terry Young's show. Provided you just request a safe artist of the decade they'd play anyway (i.e. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Temptations, Four Seasons) and not a particular song. ???

I don't know if those calls are setup in advance though.

Funny you should mention Brucie. His "Winter Dance Party" rerun has been listed on the Channel 6 schedule Mondays at 6 p.m. eastern time for the last 7 weeks. It never plays! I've received no response to my e-mails from Brucie or Channel 6.
That's weird. Brucie always encourages people to email. Speaking of Bruce his Saturday night show was not on. Just the computer playing music and jingles for 4 hours. No notice--nothing.

Speaking of Fred, when XM launched back in 2001, I requested a fairly obscure song, mostly to see what version they had. The phone was answered promptly, and the song was played 2 songs later.
Not only would this never happen today, that song probably isn't even in 1st Wave's server.
1st Wave will play your request, as long as it's "Mickey" or "Hungry Like The Wolf". In fact, they'll play it 4 times a day so you don't miss it.
On 60's On 6, there was a recent call in request for "All Along The Watchtower". The DJ asked the caller for another request, in case he didn't have it. What???? I guess Jimi Hendrix doesn't qualify as an artist that would be familiar to 60's listeners. Sad.
