"Retro": Miami Top 40s vs Billboard Top 40

Pac Jam, huge! That Nightflyte "If You Want It" was a huge S Fla tune and it's pretty hard to find these days!

While some people continue to like things they grew up on, they miss absolutely fantastic songs by Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, etc.
This could be a whole thread with another one on how tastes change.
Often, when I hear a modern rock or Hip Hop song, I sense special creativity, but I just can not get "into" it, except that Run DMC's "You talk too much" blows Joe Jones version right out of the H20.
I have gone from pop to rock to some country and R & B (or just B) to the original 95.7, WXDJ flavor of jazz to world to classical.
The early eclectic days of XM had me listening to everything, but the more I loved a genre from my youth, the less I can now tolerate it.
If I lived in the apple, my main presets would be on WFUV, WQXR, and WBAI, and were there a Klezmer station, that too, and I would go bankrupt supporting all those non-comms!
Definitely need web radio in the work vehicle

Hey Stuart, remember   "Mandolay" by La Flavor?    Huge club record, sounded local, but was actually from somewhere like Cleveland!

I have 2 copies of the 12" "Single".  One of these days i'm going to get one of those Ion units and start putting my albums on to CD.  With a library of 3500-4000 albums and 12 inchers I know it'll take a lifetime but i'd like to at least get a few hundred cuts on to disc. There has got to be some music gold in those album cabinets. The non-wife would love nothing better then for me to get rid of every last piece of Vinyl I have.  She will never understand. :-\
