Return of Oldies Majic 94.1 WTHZ?????????

  • Thread starter GoodTimesandGreatOldies
  • Start date

;D ;D And I won't .. Changes are coming...and one learned individual has said frequently..."I have never been wrong" You can quote me.. Ask Randy Kubrick in Tampa!! hahhahahhah

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking I spelled Randy's last name wrong! But then again, I haven't ever been wrong?

Big Ape is back and says "Change is coming". Is he speaking of the Old Majic 94.1??? I assume so, since this thread is about Majic 94.1. Has K-Love decided to part ways with 94.1? Are the Oldiesreturning to Majic? Maybe, Big Ape can tell more about what he is talking about....

Big Ape is the one that is saying "Big Change is Coming" in a post about 94.1. I didn`t say this, nor do I know what he is talking about. I do know that Big Ape has said that he is part of the Gig Hilton family that owns 94.1. I do know that they have been blocking WMAG-FM 99.5/Cheap Channel from using The Magic name. I don`t have details about the K-Love agreement. Just take Big Ape`s post for what it is worth.... Big Change is Coming on a thread about 94.1. We will have to trust his credibility on this one......

You assumed he was referring to WTHZ. That was what was spot-on.
Big Change is coming. I think he used to intern overnights at 102Jamz and voicetracked the 8:30 Roll Call from his home studio.

Actually, its you that said BIG Change is Coming. He said "change is coming"....and guess what?

Changes happens everyday @ every station in America.

No day is like the last.

So he was right again - and once again - you read into it what you wanted to read into it "Big" Change - just as it has been pointed out, you do with virtually every post on this forum.

Realistically guys do you think even Gig Hilton would attempt to bring oldies back to WTHZ after dropping the format for nearly two months now? I agree there is a need for a good oldies (Classic Hits) station in the area but do not think it will or would be WTHZ. I'd look for one our two stations (WIST or WBRF) to fill that gap if it ever should happen. Simon has played some 60's tunes for a very long time and I do not see them making a leap to oldies.

I wouldn`t be surprised if WBRF-FM switched to Oldies. They are locally owned and could be a GREAT Oldies stations. Hell, there already too many Country Musicstations around here. WBRF need to make the switch to Oldies!

Big Ape Hilton would be the one to talk to about "Big Change Is Coming Soon".... He posted this on this thread about WTHZ-FM 94.1. Maybe, he can return here and tel us mor about the big change on 94.1 M.

Big change???

Could that mean that Susan Linn Norville is buying the station? You didn't hear that from me.

Later . . . .

Haven't seen you for years, Randy, but you can still read me like a book! Just like Williams National PD at Southern!

I remember when a BIG change came to Triad radio. WWMO had a robot counting down and periodically the robot cvoice said a change was coming, and it's BiG.

As in Big 102.

If you ask me, 102 FM could use a change about now....

In recent days while I was flipping the dial, I have heard desperate-sounding young men and women d.j.`s on there asking for DONATIONS!!!! WOW!!!! They go to the K-Love format, fire almost everybody ( a very Christian thing to do), and now they are asking for DONATIONS!!!! WHAT???? Does anyone have any answers on this????

K-Love depends on listener contributions to stay on the air and expand their reach. That is no different than your local NPR public radio station or PBS. The share-a-thon (asking for donations) was heard all across the network and would have happened with or without 94.1. It was a coincidence that it happened soon after the format switch.

During the share-a-thon the K-Love website (http://www.klove.com) featured the ability to check the financial status of your local station. The website showed that WWLV 94.1 was fully funded.
