Just to keep urbanradio704 honest, the Beat 100.1 is a class A station with 6000 watts on a short tower. It has problems covering metro Cola. especially this time of year with e-skip and tropo. Hot has 9,200 watts as urban reported, but from a tower in a swamp 20 miles south of center city and also has trouble covering the metro.

Columbia needs an urban on a full market signal like 106.7 or 104.7.

Both 100.1 THE BEAT and HOT 103.9 seems to do decent in the ratings. Hey, I even remember when HOT 103.9 first launched they killed THE BIG DM 101.3 and they have the best Urban stick.

Rickey Smiley adds another one....Gainesville, FL. MAGIC 101.3 drops Tom Joyner for Smiley. 2nd station so far dropping the Urban AC shows in favor of younger skewing Rickey Smiley.

Tallahassee, FL is a market i'm watching for next. Steve Harvey currently has mornings on Cumulus' Urban outlet BLAZIN 102.3 while Tom Joyner is at sister Urban AC station 96.1 JAMZ.

Rickey adds another city in Florida. This time he's on in Orlando at CBS Radio's www.102jamzorlando.com replacing the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Across town Cox Radio has Tom Joyner on Urban AC STAR 94.5 and local Lil Obie & Shawn on Rhythmic POWER 95.3.

BIG DM has been Urban AC for a while now
