In fact...Ricky the K is the ultimate "mom and pop" operation (without mom). He lives in a lower middle class neighborhood in a small house and he built a totally soundproof recording studio in his backyard. His original plan was to send the show to listeners via a satellite link.
Ricky the K lives an unextravigant life and probably finances his show on a shoestring. He is as far from LARGE CORPORATE as anyone can get.
As to voice tracking: Ricky does it the old fashioned way with carts and a board that uses vaccuum tubes (purchased from a company in Republic of Hungary). He likes the "warm" sound produced by tubes. He does his show live, even utilizing the analogue clock on the wall for the correct time.
His "staff" probably consists of an engineer that he hires to work on the board to make it sound the way that he wants it to sound.
