RIP 104.7 The Fish

I feel like this was something they did when they first signed on in 2000. Can anyone confirm? I think I remember reading about them in the trades doing some hybrid CCM/Secular AC format in the beginning.
There was Mandy Moore’s “Only Hope” from the 2002 movie - A Walk to Remember.

Back then, at the time, known as Katy Hudson. BTW, ICYW, Keep The Faith will continue as it is independent from Salem so probably Penny will still be around. Industry News Bits THU 1/2/25 - HisAir.Net
That’s a different Keep The Faith. Keep The Faith w/Penny is syndicated by Salem, like all of the Fish’s programming. In researching, I saw where Penny posted on her her LinkedIn page that the show is ending January 31st and she is looking for work.

The website for the Keep The Faith that’s continuing (and referenced in the picture accompanying the article you linked to) is: KeepTheFaith

WHILE I know air 1 is headed to 104,7 92,3 has two possibilities i hope for boost. channel 11 called emf electronic media foundation, im not sure what they will do in sacramento pr orange county but atlanta is obvious\

I rarely post and am just a listener (not in the business or an especially close follower), but I'll chime in that I suspect they spun The Fray's "How to Save a Life" in 2006-2007 more than any station in Atlanta... it had to have been in heavy rotation for the better part of twelve months.

In the past I think someone would have picked up the format and personalities but Cox and Audacy probably wont touch it now and I think with the relationship between Iheart and EMF would prevent them from taking on the format. The station that is national and brought the format to many cities will now own Atlanta with its main two stations on big signals. The joy fm is ran out of Sarasota with a local operations manager in Peachtree City Georgia . With 33 years of loving the format I hate my home market losing a local voice but Salem trying to stay alive but i think in the past 94.1 or some poor ranking signal would do great with the format but now we have to deal with stations programmed in FLA and TN.

The major radio companies don’t do that format. And aside from that, anyone trying it would be going against 3 stations, 106.7, 104.7 and 93.3. Not exactly a hole in the market for CCM.

KLTY showed me the format could work on commercial radio in the mid 90s so when Atlanta got one in 2000 i was proven right that Atlanta could support one as well, Now with Salem getting out of music the format will have few commercial stations left. i kniw the radio world is way different now so to keep the format non comm is our only choice.
