For the umpteenth time...the original owner of 101.1 had nothing to do with any of this. His General Manager did. The original owner sold 101.1 and got out.
Curious. WXGT was 92.3's calls in the late 70s when they did a rock-leaning CHR format as 92X. At the time it was owned by Dayton-based Great Trails. Prior to taking the WXGT calls, it was WCOL-FM. Today it is of course iHeart's WCOL(FM) country powerhouse.AM 1580 has applied for the call sign WXGT.
Interesting how it has similarity to Delmar's WVXG 95.1...AM 1580 has applied for the call sign WXGT.

He sold the IP to Malloy when WHIZ Media Group was considering breaking the LMA with Fun With Radio in favor of a lease with Salem Communications.Has Vaughn ever chimed in on the WWCD saga after he sold it?
I just read an old Dispatch article, and it appears Vaughan operated 102.5 for a short time before selling the intellectual property to Malloy.
That’s right. Memory sometimes gets fuzzy over time.He sold the IP to Malloy when WHIZ Media Group was considering breaking the LMA with Fun With Radio in favor of a lease with Salem Communications.
Given the translators at 92.9 it only makes sense that 1550/1580 air the same programming. Neither translator is strong enough nor positioned well enough to cover on its own. It's not running over 1550 or 1580 as of 11:25 a.m. Sunday, so it appears to be online only at this point.
From everything I've read here, it looks like whatever comes next will continue to be a simulcast between the Delaware and Columbus frequencies.
How is 96.7's coverage in Delaware? Regardless of the source it always looks like the signal is pinched away from Delaware and targeted specifically on Marysville...I had initially wondered whether the signals would be split and 1550/92.9 would return to being Delaware-focused. That probably doesn't need to happen with 96.7/1270 being the signal that serves Delaware and Marysville more now, not that they'll ever return to the situation of 10 or so years ago when WQTT was the Marysville station and WDLR was the Delaware station.
