RIP Pulse 87

If Joel ends up at 101.9, Emmis would be surprised to see a ratings boost.

But about the original staff at Pulse?? If they end up at 101.9, LOCK IT IN AND CRANK IT UP!

Dance music fans - WE MUST NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT - we gotta get our OUTLET for this music in NYC PROPER - AND WE WILL - BOOK IT!!

The online feed went dead for a moment--then went back on with a liner and more music. What happened on air?

Lost of words, what a tremendous finale they put out. DONT STOP BELIEVIN! Damn right, we will fight for our right.

What's up? The stream is still on with Cascada on now. Are they off the air in NYC? Is the webstream going to continue? If so, will it be jockless or can they afford to keep the jocks? Anyone know what's up?

It is off in nyc. And what's the point of shutting it down if there's silence.Actually it not silent. But its not dance music.

They're defintely playing an EDM song right now... I just can't think of the name of it. Imagination or something.

EDIT: And now a good mix of Captain Hollywood's More and More

What's on the air at 87.7? Are they back to the Russian pop from a couple of years ago? Let's hope the webstream survives. At least it is something and will keep the passion alive to get dance and Pulse back on a signal somewhere in the city.

This is confusing. There is a low quality dance mix on the air on 87.7 that is different from the Pulse Stream....go figure?

Okay, so I am not going crazy. It was silent for about 5 minutes and then I hear dance beats on 87.7......what the hell is going on?

Actually it is like a dance music mix. But no dj's and stero.

Wonder if the owners of the 87.7 frequency are going to continue to operate it as a dance station, just without Mega Media's involvement? They could do it on the cheap, with no jocks. Wouldn't be a bad idea, and if it keeps dance on the air in NYC, I'd be for it. They've seen the cume that is possible, so maybe they will operate it themselves or with another group and keep the dance format with a different name or something.

Hey I'll take it.

It's a different subset of Dance music than Pulse would usually play though, kind of like what would be on late night. I'm still enjoying it.

Like I've said many times before at the flips of many great radio stations, it's hard to run a radio station these days . It's all about revenue and ratings. I would tune in from time to time online to see what all the hype was about and I enjoyed listening to the energy on the air. I live in the LA area and when i heard Pulse was going to make an entrance on our dial, I was actually pretty excited. However, it never happened. While I'm not a huge dance music fan, it would have been great to have a station like Pulse on the air.
I've seen many of my favorite stations leave the air. Indie 103.1...G-Rock...
Pulse 87 would be a great webcast! Someone should get on that! It's easier to get internet radio in your car now! Good luck to all the listeners on the NY board in getting another dance station on the air!

Has there been any station id's, sweepers, or any indication of what it is, or is it simply cold music segues? Also, are we sure it's still WNYZ's signal and not a pirate that popped up after Pulse signed off? Did the signal ever go off completely?

Maybe Tony knows what's up since he was there, and will post soon.

Do you have the aircheck of the last day of "Pulse 87" until 5 PM. I missed it, because I had dinner right before 5 PM and then do the chores. I missed the last day. :( If you have an aircheck of the end of "Pulse 87", please post an MP3 of it. Thanks!
