Here are the newest numbers out for the Riverside San Bernardino area.

As you can tell KOLA FM, once 1 of the 2 main stations in the IE, has slowly been slipping, they once averaged in the mid 6 range. Now they are down to 4.5 overall. KGGI, and KLYY. Are both ahead of them and for the first time KLVE. So why the ratings slip?

I think it's the Hispanic audience. 2 of them are in the top 5. And it's starting to put a squeeze on KOLA. Those 2 would be KLYY, and KLVE. Those 2 Spanish stations have the most powerful towers in southern California for Spanish only listeners and it's starting to show up.

As always, before I declare anything to be "slipping" I want to see the demographic breakouts. You can't tell anything from the public 6+ numbers ... but even as much as I and others say that, you guys still insist on worrying and postulating based on numbers that neither the stations or the ad agencies care about.

David?

KSGN is ninth with a 2.0. I'm always amazed that the "family-friendly" Christian music station consistently has such a relatively high audience share in a market which is more than 50% Hispanic. I can't imagine that there are very many Hispanics who are fans of Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, Unspoken, Building 429, Casting Crowns and Tenth Avenue North. However, I will withhold judgment until we hear from the "worrying and postulating" crowd. :)
