RKO Monday announcement

I don't know why, but that was a big topic of conversation today. I saw it on several Facebook Pages I follow including that of 6-ABC WPVI out of Philly.

I think it has something to do with numerous stories online over the past couple of days -- probably planted by the restaurant chains themselves -- about a chicken sandwich "war" involving Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, and others.

The problem with this logic is, quite simply, this is VB we're talking about. The man who is more doughy on issues than a piece of wet kleenex, who is afraid to take any stance on an issue which is somehow controversial.

VB 2.0 is now suddenly "in the middle politically" as I heard him put it.

Back in the days of the THE PIT on WRKO, I think he was a self-described conservative.

On any serious issues he sounds like someone driving around with the e-brake on.

Conservatives do not vote for Obama.

Conservatives do not vote for Obama.

Not normally, but when Mitt Romney was the other choice, you were voting for a Democrat or a Democrat in the form of a RINO

McCain v Obama? McCain was Hillary in a better suit. They were so much alike it was hard to tell them apart. Again Democrat vs Democrat/RINO

Trump is the closest thing to a conservative the R's have put up as a candidate since 1984

Not really. More like Romney. He wants national health care and gun control. That's Romney.

That's OK because Massachusetts likes Romney. If you put his views on the radio, it might be good for ratings.

Today's riveting, highly controversal 2 pm topic: "should we do away with the penny?"

IMG_1498.jpeg

At least it wasn't the most vile topic he ever came up with as a fill in for Howie 10 years ago:

"What's the worst thing you ever smelled"!

The other day was a rant about how movies should never be longer than 2 hours. If I happen to be in the car at that time, I find Depetro to be much more interesting if you can get reception for 1380 AM.

I stream DePetro on TuneIn. Been listening to him for, geeze, seems like 2 decades now. His topics are more RI-centric but I'm close enough to RI and my parents still live in Providence so I have some (little) interest in what goes on in the State of Depression.

Who picks the topics of discussion? VB or the millennial nitwits?

Rush's fans would start off calls by saying they agreed with him. "Dittos", which became megadittos.

Clips of Rush in his Pittsburgh top 40 days as Jeff Christie:'some of you are wondering about this award I've received. It's the Marconi Award for
"excellence in broadcasting",(1970s)

Right... just not getting how it applies to my quoted text. Then again, since I haven't listened to Rush since the early 1990's, maybe I'm missing something obvious regular listeners would understand.

Today's riveting topic: should luggage have wheels?

That's not a topic for a segment on a radio show. That's barely even a topic for a tweet!

Given the topics people have said they have heard....I am pretty sure that management has instructed him to stay away from politics, and for Noon-3PM to be lite lifestyle content.

Probably not his fault, just doing what he is told.

One of yesterday's segments was "toxic masculinity songs".

The thought of VB and "toxic masculinity" in the same sentence is laughable.

Now, if we could just change his nickname to CB -- Cuck Boy -- it would be more appropriate.
