On the one hand you had an unsettled quarterback situation at best with Bradshaw, Malone and Stoudt. On the other you could have chosen a local hero who wound up being one of the best quarterbacks of all time. As we have seen throughout their history, the Steelers have drafted players with worse character issues than Marino. Perhaps the Steelers should have looked past the rumors that dogged Marino. I don't recall Marino getting into any trouble since he left Pitt.
