I was in Memphis yesterday for a while. I had CD's going and forgot to listen around.
I did, however, see a billboard for Rock 103. The focus was "Mornings with Tim and Bad Dog," and it featured a picture of just the two of them. It was weird to see that, and it made me wonder a couple of things.
How does the show sound without Bev? (My fault I haven't heard it-what with all the working in the morning)
How do FM100 mornings sound without Steve? I guess less Steve just means more Ron (shudder!)
How noticeable are the departures? Not to people in and from the business...but to the general public?
When I do listen to the radio in the mornings, I listen to Rock 92.3 out of Jackson. They've recently dumped John Boy and Billy and are currently running just liners with live news and weather a couple of times an hour.
I hate to admit it...but I kind of like it.
No jocks tryin' to be clever and funny.
The news and such is somebody from the group's newstation, and he just does his deal and lets the rock roll.
No stupid call ins, no time and temp pukers, and traffic as necessary within the news.
You can get a little Zepplin and AC/DC on the way to work in the morning without having to listen to a morning "zoo" tryin' to be the next Dees.
I know it won't last like this...but I'll enjoy it while it does.
