Rock 104.5 is retiring

the female demographic if they decided to change to AC targeting 35-54 would be in competition with WYRE in St.Augustine. That being said i don't think there are any other stations like that in Jacksonville (Maybe WEJZ?)

If it's the AC route Cox takes, it will be Lite AC instead of a Hot AC like the 16K WYRE. Most of 'YRE's signal into Jacksonville is "distant" at best on the south end with from the area north of Bowden Road considered "fringe". Why compete with someone who really isn't a competitor?

I guess they would not be directly competing. I was just speaking the with the GM for WYRE and found out that is their demographic

Interesting. I would have thought their P1 would have skewed a bit younger - perhaps W 25-44. With that being said, W 35+ tend to be much more loyal listeners than any other demo.

well they went easy bullshit garbage music jax sucks power 1061 really couldve used more power easy 1045 it is gayness

The web stream still has the stunting.

ok on i heart radio it was playing joe cocker and a couple other easy listening songs but there back to stunting

It looks like we could have a new station soon....both iHeart radio and TuneIn has detected songs that have been loaded in the computer.

When refreshing the stream page, it shows Player's "Baby Come Back" at 5:58PM and then resets to the current time with Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" as "Now Playing".

Hello. I appreciate all the insight into ESPN and hot talk. :) I still unmute the stream from time to time hoping to hear something different. I hope they don't drag it out until Wednesday. I'll keep checking the stream.

I think we are about to have something soon.

@BostonRandy, I was about to mention those two songs as I saw it came up on the player.

Now things get interesting at this point.

If You Don't Know Me By Now...Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes now playing...a sweeper for Easy 104.5 played in between the songs.

That is not a voice for a Soft AC... Would be a great move for them but I still think Power moves or Urban AC (a la Hot 105 in Miami).. doubt they'd go Classic Hits against themselves...

Cox is one of the smartest companies strategically. They may feel there's not enough 35-64 to sell in JAX.

Now Who Loves You by the Four Seasons is being tested....this is getting interesting.

You can chalk Easy off... they're just seguing ... the voice guy sounds very male ... and not even listening the songs fade... Also could do an AC along the lines of Warm in Tampa or gold-based between Lite and APE...

And back to the stunting.

Now this is just a joke. How many people are now seriously listening to all of this mess in Jacksonville? I can't think many are to be honest.

Almost 5PM and they have been using the "Easy 104.5" moniker for almost fifteen minutes. Now Bread and "If. I'm enjoying this. It would be nice if this is the new format. Enough rock, urban and country. We need a station for "older" listeners.

So much for the "Easy" stunting..Country for two minutes, now hip hop. Really..outside of radio geeks nobody really cares. I hope this ends soon.
