Rock 106.7

I don't think these maps take a few things into thought:

1- 106.7 sits at the base of mountains and the signal is actually more powerful in Carrollton (where I live) vs 100.5
2-100.5 gets some interference from 100.5 in B'ham

Now, is 106.7 moving to atlanta. I though I read something on here about a CP to move to Atlanta.

100.5 will give a much better signal over most of the populated areas. 106.7 has signal issues on I-85 around Clairmont Rd down to the Brookwood Interchange. Also, if you look at the two coverage maps you will see that the west side of the metro will get a better signal with 100.5.

There was some chit-chat about Cumulus downgrading a Chattanooga station on 106.5 so 106.7 could move closer in on that frequency, but if I remember it really didn't buy them much.

I could definitely see them merging a hybrid of Rock 100.5 and the Bone to put at 106.7 under the Rock 106.7 brand. That would allow them to maintain that heritage "Rock" brand. Something along the lines of 98 Rock in Tampa Bay. I think there's a reason they originally reserved the URL atlantasrockstation.com. Regular Guys would fit in well with that format.

Then move All News to 100.5, as other suggested. I said from day one I didn't think they'd ever be able to compete with WSB's resources. Moving it allows them to develop the Cumulus news network in Atlanta that I believe they still want to use to feed other markets.

And then use 97.9 and 98.9 to try new stuff. Who knows what they do there.

As far as the Braves go, while their contract is with 100.5, would they be opposed to a move to a bigger signal?

River keeps moving harder and harder, which gives Rock100.5 some freedom to go more active.

All News could get the Braves PBP rights along with the Tech PBP rights.

Curious to see what will happen to the bone's and rock 1005s air staff. Will they merge onto the one station? Could we see local overnights? Or will some split and go to THE WALK or what ever is going is going on 98.9 or 97.9?

Just go 99x @ 100.5...98.9 as The Bone, 97.9 as another format... or 98.9 & 97.9 as the same format.
Why give the bigger signal to a format that performed worse than the Bone on the same signal?

[EDIT-content removed per TOS.]

I have to agree with Max on this one. The Bone will be merged with Rock, moved to 106.7 , with AN moving to 100.5.

so does allnews989.com. allnews1015.com, allnews997.com but they did buy domain names with all their atlanta market frequencies

Good for Jennifer Perry! I always enjoyed listening to her with Rusty Humphries. I hope she will be on air and not just management.

Surprised somebody hasn't hijacked this thread by now on why their personal music interests aren't being served.

I dont think anyone has any logical room to voice their oposition to this. Atlanta has no modern rock station in Atlanta. Personally, I would prefer alternative over active but any modern rock format would do at this point. Not like a CHR station coming to a city with 4 other versions of contemporary hits.
