KXOR is still not like most rock stations in the state who play new rock... Most of them (such as KXRR "Rock 106" Monroe) play the classics but lean more new (at least 60% Checking on all the stations playing new rock and classics in the state or come in with city grade into the state) , whereas currently Rock 106 Houma is at least 70-80% (if not more) classic rock....

Sorry on the health condition over there....

I agree with you to a point. but when I sampled this mornign during their new mornign show, the newest song was "free falling" by Tom Petty from 1989.. Most of it was like the same play list from the KXOR days if they stuck with just hard rock ... George Thurgood, throw on some def leppard, then some skynyrd ( I do love the artists but to play the same songs that the former owners drove into the ground got to be too much).. it was the same problematic playlist that KXOR had done adnauseum under Guaranty..

Main note also is this isn't a substitution for the end106.7 but actually KXOR becoming a rocker again that knows music exists past 1995 (as Guaranty listenend to the same few who would call wanting the same three hundred songs instead of seeing what people wanted as Rock fans are less likely to fill in the diraries).

My opinion is it should follow a pattern or some sort of formula like say 2 songs per hour after 1996 or even split the hour between the decades..leaning more on the classics... but personally that is what drove me away from classic rock is the same thing most classic rock stations love...play the same songs adnausiem.... Sorry but after the 400th time of George Thurogood doing "Who do you love" I can't take it anymore.

They call themselves Rock 106.... most with that, name lean heavier on the newer rock , playing heavy on hair metal and classic rock at times... I say at least add a few newer songs per hour between the classics to break the boredom.

Nope I figured it out and we are both right!?!?!?!?

Seems as if they are classic rock heavy during the day and mainstream at night. I don't have the list but I know the 7am hour was AC/DC (beleive it was a song the Back in Black cd) ,then Kansas' "Carry On wayward Song" with newest song being one from Pearl Jam in the early 90s.

The 6pm hour tonight was heavy with new rock, 90s classics and some older classics ...The mix I love the most. This is the mix most mainstream rockers in North Louisiana and those coming out of Texas covering Lake Charles follow.

and it ain't close to WCKW mid 90s, I f I remember the playlist... My most favorite with , If I remember was a 50/50 mix.... Sort of like KZMZ was about 2 years ago....

Also 1am two mornings in a row it was dead air?!?!?!

Sorry for confusion but now you see where I was coming from.
