Sorry on the health condition over there....
I agree with you to a point. but when I sampled this mornign during their new mornign show, the newest song was "free falling" by Tom Petty from 1989.. Most of it was like the same play list from the KXOR days if they stuck with just hard rock ... George Thurgood, throw on some def leppard, then some skynyrd ( I do love the artists but to play the same songs that the former owners drove into the ground got to be too much).. it was the same problematic playlist that KXOR had done adnauseum under Guaranty..
Main note also is this isn't a substitution for the end106.7 but actually KXOR becoming a rocker again that knows music exists past 1995 (as Guaranty listenend to the same few who would call wanting the same three hundred songs instead of seeing what people wanted as Rock fans are less likely to fill in the diraries).
My opinion is it should follow a pattern or some sort of formula like say 2 songs per hour after 1996 or even split the hour between the decades..leaning more on the classics... but personally that is what drove me away from classic rock is the same thing most classic rock stations love...play the same songs adnausiem.... Sorry but after the 400th time of George Thurogood doing "Who do you love" I can't take it anymore.
They call themselves Rock 106.... most with that, name lean heavier on the newer rock , playing heavy on hair metal and classic rock at times... I say at least add a few newer songs per hour between the classics to break the boredom.
