Rock 93.9--where are you?

If you found another job, then congrats, I hope you did. Otherwise, LET GO MAN!

Who knows, perhaps the owners could have restored the infamous, "Magic Oldies 94FM" format and started an Oldies war with 104.3.. It's all about the money, and the FM newstalk could work well since the AM signals are pretty weak, and unlistenable after sunset..Sort of forgot that 101.7 is a somwhat of short timer anyways since it's moving south towards Keene..

Not that Rob Wolf was a broadcasting genius....but Magic 94 had an interesting almost....variety hits feel to it. Personally, I like the JACK and MIKE FM's. Not jukebox's but variety hits with real (or tracked) jocks. Thats just my personal listening preference though.

I gotta chance to be able to listen to 93.9 on my way home to CT... wow what useless garbage... ( remember this is just my opinion..) and they took 94.3 relay in White river as well WTF...
as for 101.7 new voice guy... I did not like him at all he was talking about how hard rock music and they play.. and then the most overplayed top 40 nickleback song comes on...
who is the new voice guy? I hope they can improve the rock 101.7 liners...

If you think WVRR is going to stay rock, "you got another thing comin'". Can you say "KiXX 100.5 and 101.9"?

I'll have to agree with "Ben" on this one. It's been too long since reading these posts last and conferring with Jeff to remember what might actually happen, but my best guess is exactly what Mr. Karlow posted.

That will make for some serious country choices in Cheshire, lower Sullivan, and Windham counties if 101.9 is to simultcast Kixx.. That will battle out with 98.7 WINQ, 104.9 WYRY and large chunk of the 107.1 portion of the Wolf signal.. Eeehhhh hawwwwww !! Isn't Oldies missing in Keene ?? Scott Shannon's "The True Oldies Channel" would go over very well there on 101.9... As for 93.9 yep the rock is gone, perhaps the talk format will be more 'sellable' and appealing. There's still 99 Rock which goes calmly on and sounding good.

without 99 rock having any competition things could get dicey... 99 rock won't try as hard because without any competition they own the market and won't have to try as hard...

Additionally, don't think that the Greg Fennell/Brian Ryea experience is a long-term thing... I'm sure Shapiro & co. are banking on the return of the I-man.

From what i saw in the ARB 99 Rock had an entire "1" share so....I don't think they're going to "own" the market anytime soon.

Well, look at it this way, there is no place for them to go, but up!

Speaking of 99, I had a chance to listen to them this week. It sounds like they're trying to add a little more content into the morning show. I heard some guy from the new show "Chuck" on yesterday, and today, Chris Garrett had the New Hampshire Tax evaders, Ed and Elaine Brown on.

Either he's looking to have more content and guests like the Morning Buzz had, or, he's trying to get arrested for aiding and abetting known criminals! ::)

I am a little behind on this topic but let me say: Greg and the Morning Buzz is the BEST morning show ever!!! How could those idiots kill it. I used to tune in to 93.9/101.7 as soon as I reached Sherburne Pass heading from Rutland to Lyndonville and listen to the morning show until the signal died just south of Wells River (where WWLR can be heard ;D ) I hope the ratings tank on whoever had this "bright" idea. Idiots.

I reiterate... Greg and the morning buzz is a Clear Channel asset. The station is no longer Clear Channel meaning the new owner would have to pay for the syndication rights. Probably not the cheapest way to go, and doesn't really lend to the "local-at-heart" line of thinking that this owner has in store. (Although I'm sure they'd make an exception for Imus).

Whether they were good or not, it's a done deal.

Greg and the Morning Buzz were awesome. What a HUGE mistake it was for JEFFY to drop the show. It looks like they are hanging their hat on KIXX to make the money in west Lebanon, cause GXL isn"t very good, (worse now than when they bought from CC), and Rock 99 smells.

I would not be surprised if Nassau cuts a deal to grab Greg and the Buzz and lights them up on Q-106.

I would. Free Beer and Hot Wings is the Nassau mandate for rock-based formats, and they probably get it on a barter basis. All they have to pay for is a board-op.

The Morning Buzz is gone, get over it and move on.

So, WTSM in Keene (the new station) will most likely be a simulcast.....which will be interesting. Basically, I wouldn't expect many listeners from Keene tuning into the new station. The signal will most likely be used as a way to increase coverage area....making the sales pitch be....."look at our signal....we are the biggest talker around...."

The Keene market already has a heritage talker with WKBK....they will never tune in to listen.

Are you kidding? FM talk attracts new listeners. Mainly people that never go to the AM band like lots of women and young people.

A smart move for Saga would be to flip an existing FM to a simulcast of WKBK in anticipation of Great Eastern's move into the market...
