Ron Diamond (real last name is Cutler). He has/had a production company on the west coast. Several years ago during a radio greats reunion he was on for 2 hours on 98.1 WOGL. His Older son Seath was killed in a tragic accident During the two hours he talked about his Philly days. Remember he called his listeners VIL's? And there was the lovers music and the cow bell named Cowculater. What many don't remember is that he was the first to play "Rock & Roll" on FM in Philadelphia.

He was on 92.5 WIFI, at the time the studio and tower were in the backyard of a house located on Potshop Rd. and Germantown pike.(across the street from WWDB AM/WPEN's towers).

Alot of great programs came out of that little studio. When in High School I spent my Sunday mornings there. We had to spin records for Polka Joe too! Everything was homemade. I remember standard light switches to turn on the turntables.
Back to Ron Cutler Diamond, currently I have no idea what he is doing. He may have retired.
Anyone out there remember how his show's began? Hint: "Rock & Roll music is the music of modern american youth and ......"

Hi his son who died was his middle son. He ran a web page www.rondiamond.com for about a year and half. It was a tribute to his son the web page. But all of a sudden he shut it down and was never heard of again. thanks for the reply

and modern American Youth is the future of America. These two and a half hours are dedicated to the heart and soul of modern american youth...the college student, the sophisticate, the teenager with class!

He's been currently working on a book off and on and the website which was one of the most viewed in the world, (200,000) listeners and viewers was removed due to copyright situations.

I used to listen to about a half hour of the music on that web site nearly everyday. Offered a nice change of pace from what was on the radio during the work day. I really missed it when he had to shut down.

I listened to Ron on a regular basis during his WIFI days. Also was a fan of Johnny Dev, first when he was on afternoons, then later in the evening when he tried "progressive". I remember the afternoon he was playing R&R, like he did everyday, then suddenly switched to show tunes. He sounded very angry on the air as he made the switch. I figured the owner had a problem with R&R and just decided to be a jerk. Does anyone know what happened that day? I will admit the show tunes made for a better lead-in to the 5:45pm "Hymns At Eventide" program!

I still have a lot of fond memories of the DJ's and programs on WIFI.
