Just not on terrestrial radio:

A lot of local DJs have done this after getting dropped from radio. It's a commitment without much of a return.
I wish them best, but what a classic radio scenario: Suddenly lose decade old radio gig, get real estate license, massage wounded ego's by doing a podcast.
Although these two implying that they'll dish some dirt on KIRO (Episode 1 -- What Really Happened at KIRO?) should get them a decent audience for the premiere. Of course, it may also represent a bridge burnt beyond repair if they ever want to work in Seattle radio -- or any large market - again.
I liked Ron and Don, but wasn't crazy about them, but I think they may have unfairly treated. Look at how they treat Dave Ross. A few minutes on air here and there. KIRO are more bent on becoming a rightwing station. I have only listened sporadically over the years. Loved Pat Cashman, Dave Ross, and Dori until he turned into Rush Jr. REALLY liked the late Bill Gallant. No liberal talk in Seattle anymore that I can find.

No liberal talk? Have you tried KBCS? 91.3 FM. Thom Hartmann, Pacifica's Democracy Now.
Liberal talk doesn't generate ratings even in blue states. Look up "Air America".

KIRO generated good ratings with numerous liberal talk hosts over the years. The rightward shift of the FM has been a fairly recent development in the station's history.

The same could have been said about KGO/San Francisco in its heyday.
