RTN Currently Off the Air

Most of the MGM movie library was sold off to Ted Turner back in the 1990's. Well all of the well known/popular ones. Ted Turner cable outlets was sold off to Time Warner. For people who haven't heard. I'm do like that they air cheesy sci-fi horror flicks on This TV. I did catch Support Your Local Sheriff on This TV. That must be their biggest movie on This TV.

This TV besides MYTV and to a lesser extent CW are the most successful DTV sub channels.

Note When I was watch the 6PM news on WCMH I find it amusing that an episode of the Incredible Hulk was playing on one of their monitors when they went to weather.

WSYX wants to moved to UHF TV48 but the Azteca America affiliate is occupying UHF TV48. WCPX holds a construction permit to build digital facilities on channel 25; it also holds an application to flash-cut to digital on channel 48.

When that happens then WSYX would move to UHF TV48.

I watched "Inherit the Wind" with Spencer Tracy the other day. They also show Mister Ed and Patty Duke show reruns in the predawn hours, which to my knowledge haven't been shown much on free tv in my area.

This TV debuted on WFIE this morning. So far, I have to say I like it. I got to see "The Kentuckian" this morning, and it's been ages since I saw that. It was filmed in Rockport, IN ... my hometown.

So does RTN have only a limited number of episodes for the programs they are airing? They sure do repeat the same ones a lot for as many episodes that were produced.

Is that from a recent observation? If so, maybe that's because Luken only had a limited amount of shows on hand when they were evicted from Equity, with Equity holding the rest.

Well, the network was so screwed up for a while so it's hard to say when I first noticed. Since it's been back up and running the normal schedule I've seen the same Marcus Welby episode three times. One Saturday they aired the same Leave It To Beaver episode back to back.

This TV is now in 60% of the country...

This (no pun intended) is big news for this new network. Having just launched a few months ago they are already larger than the longer established networks like RTN and LATV.
I enjoy their list of what has to be called "B" movies, but many seem to be the made-for-TV variety. I enjoyed seeing the 1986 version of "Stagecoach" with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the "Pink Panther" and the "Ant and the Aardvark" cartoons used as filler at the end of one of the movies. I don't believe I've seen those in 25 years! Also in addition to "Patty Duke" and "Mister Ed", I see "Bat Masterson" on the schedule this weekend.

Does This TV have a website?

No wonder This TV doesn't have a schedule online officially -they don't want people to see it. :D Not impressed, at least for one week.

Oh, well, it's still coming here to WUAB/43.2...though, when? The local station still has that "no more Tube" graphic up on 43.2...
