This is totally inaccurate. Jesse Helms by law had to divest all his holdings in Capitol Broadcasting when he was elected to the United States Senate in 1972. And as for the rumor that CBC is out to sell both Charlotte stations, this is also inaccurate. If any of the two would go on the block, it would be 55, not WJZY. Trust me, I am in a position to know.
