Rush auctions off "smear letter" to charity

Just to make sure the record stays reasonably accurate the letter asking Mr. Mays to take action against Mr. Limbaugh is a response (wrong headed in my view) to what Mr. Limbaugh said on his program heard by who-knows-how-many-listeners.

My view: this is a bad call by a bunch of politicos against a loudmouth with a big microphone and an equally large ego.

The letter was writtne to rush not as the senate against a private citizen but as the senate against the Rush Limbuagh corporation...for that is what it "technically" has become.

I think Rush should auction off his Class 4-F paper. I think that might even bring in more money for a good cause. Just think, that way the "coward" could now give something back to the men and women who are not cowards.

Seems to me that the coward was one Mr. Jesse Al-Zaid, the person Rush was referring to in his comments. Mr. Al-Zaid was in the military for about 4 months and never left the states.

Believe what? Jesse (Al-Zaid) Macbeth falsely claimed to have participated in war crimes in Iraq and received a Purple Heart. But in reality he was discharged after only 44 days of service, never placing a foot in Iraq.

Don't change the angle. The record clearly shows that Rush was not only referring Jesse Macbeth as the "Phony Soldiers". He didn't even mention Jesse Macbeth during his nasty comments that disgraceful day. He was painting with a very broad brush.

I read the transcripts posted at Media Matters, which I use to get actual transcripts of 'controversial' topics. (yes, its all anti anti-liberal, no surprise there).

Its very good for that. Then, after reading or viewing the original transcripts or video, I decide if its something to be concerned about....or something stupid.

This Rush thing I would classify as something stupid.

The democrats are going to end up looking dumb about this entire thing.

You can't go faulting someone for being 4-F. It's not like a "Dear Teacher, Please, excuse Susie for 5th period P.E. because she's on the rag this week" letter. Or the infamous doctor's note because Johnny has a hangnail. That physical gives people a severe going-over before somebody gets a 4-F. Lots of guys who were 4-F desperately wished they could have served their country [right or wrong] in uniform.

You wanna call somebody a coward? Point at all the guys rated 1-A who didn't volunteer. Even worse, how about the ones who jumped into loveless marriages or knocked up innocent girls to get an exemption. Worst of all, the ones who ran off to Canada, not because they were conscientious objectors, but because they were chicken sh*ts.

There's PLENTY to disagree with Rush about. He makes a Democrat logo out of himself on a daily basis.

Randi Rhodes recently mentioned on her show she had the same medical problem. She said she had a simple procedure to remove the boil in her doctor's office and went home. She later joined the Air Force.
