The only people who are offended by Ms Flakes' unfortunate choice of words are you and fellow leftists.
Half of the citizens of this country are female. I think you are going to find that a major portion of the female population are offended by the words of Mr. Limbaugh. It is not Ms. Flukes (very childish to refer to her as Ms. Flakes) who used an unfortunate choice of words. I think the whole firestorm is over the words of the guy who has the radio program.

Based on what? Limbaugh and company may be windbags, but making an ass of onesself is not grounds for the FCC to revoke a broadcaster's license.
This may be the event that causes a lot of people to huddle and discuss what limits there are, if any, on the proper use of a licensed frequency. Obviously FCC staffers are going to be parsing all this to see if it violates any current regulations/standards. If it does not, the second half of the conversation will be: Should there be some rule that makes such comments an offense that can result in a fine or maybe a license revocation.
There will be a number of congressmen/congresswomen having similar discussions.
There will be a lot of discussion by business people and by ad agencies discussing: Do we want to be in the same room with this elephant?
There has been a lot of discussion about "establishment Republicans" who may have some reservations about how the current primary campaign in playing out. Whether that is true or not, I will wager that there is currently a lot of telephone time being burned by "establishment Republicans" discussing whether they are going to have to be the ones that knock the props out from under Limbaugh if the FCC and the advertising industry don't.

If people are "calling reception", how many of them are actual listeners as opposed to people staffing Democratic party phone banks? If there are local people calling, are THEY listeners, or would they even be listeners if the station converted to all liberal talk? Just asking.
Could I suggest that people who NEVER listen to radio are entitled to have an opinion about what should and should not be suitable broadcast material. If they want to call the receptionist, write a letter, get a poster and do an "Occupation Radio Station".... there will be no one asking to see their survey organization diary to see if their protest is allowable.
You may be over-estimating the amount of funds that various arms of the Democratic Party have availble to staff massive phone banks that you see in your imagination.
If the Limbaugh comments had come out of the blue, there might not have been quite as much agitation. There might have been grumbling and the whole thing go away quickly. But as Paul Havey was fond of saying: "And now, the Rest of the story."
Women were already
highly pissed. In a big grand-standing show, the Senate had a hearing on the subject of "Women's health issues" as part of their legislative program to over-ride the Administration's announced new plan for paying for birth control... INCLUDING church related groups that were protesting. They had a hearing. Five MALE witnesses sat at the table and testified about FEMALE health issues. There was an effort to get Ms. Fluke included in that event. Refused.
The House scheduled their own hearing on the issue and schedules Ms. Flukes. The powers-that-be came up with a rule that forbid the presence of TV cameras as she testified. (The five men had been televised.)
So, before Rush walked where angel's fear to tread as we used to say, a major portion of the American public was in a fowl mood over the way the Congress handled the subject of "Women's Health Issues". And when he did weigh-in with a choice of words that even his friends and supporters probably agree was a dumb, dumb move, that was the straw that broke the legendary camel's back.
It is obvious in reading this thread that many of you have never been the husband of, the boy friend of, or the father of a female who has parts and hardware that do not function well. Even when NOT engaged in sexual activity, birth control medications may be prescribed just to get all the moving parts linked together and marching normally. Some of the people in this thread do not understand the problems of PMS. (PMS and irregular schedules are NOT limited to women who are Democratic or Liberal.) I suspect across the nation tonight there are a number of men who tried to comment on this whole event at home and have found themselves sleeping on the couch tonight.
Take it from the Cowboy. Rush stepped in something. He may find that even new boots will not kill the odor of what he stepped in.
