Wrong conclusion #1:MC said:I don't know what DR L's bottom financial line was or is, ( I think she had pretty high ratings on KFI in LA) but I can see her current situation being a "comfortable" business model.
If Limbaugh loses some of the major market stations, going to satellite and podcasts would bring quite a few new subscribers. If Limbaugh goes from 600 stations down to 500, then that will be the story.
Remember Rush as a person who had a TV Show? As a Person who was an NFL commentator? As a person who wanted to buy a NFL team? As a person who had a "no boundaries necktie business?" As a person who never had to apologize to please sponsors and affiliates?
The "King" failed in all those endeavors. So thinking of the guy as invincible is a mistake or Arthur Godfrey would still be on the radio.
Limbaugh has decreased the number of stations he was on over the years from over 650 stations and it did not make news.
Wrong conclusion #2:
Rush had the TV show for 4 years. The syndication company - Metromedia - was purchased and the new management went into a direction of only wanting to strip one hour shows. Rush's program was only a half hour and he did not want to extend it.
Wrong conclusion #3:
Rush was not hired as an NFL commentator. The "game" was rigged right off the bat. Tom Jackson did not like Rush and was opposed to his presence on the show. Mr. Jackson reluctantly agreed with it but he, like so many that think they know what they heard, their own agendas get in the way. Rush left because of the friction. He wanted to contribute to the program as a fan. Look at how the stage was arranged and tell me he had an even shot of success.
Wrong conclusion #4:
Many people want to buy into sports franchises. Few are chosen. Again, people with a predisposition can ruin it for everybody. He probably does not regret the offer. And since so many people have HD and 55inch TV's, they are leaving a lot of open seats in the stadium.
Wrong conclusion #5:
Th "No Boundary" collection was a pet project of his last wife, Marta. The ties was a little out there, I grant you, but they did get noticed - on the Floor of the House of Representatives, for one. When you see someone wearing one, you knew right away, they were a fan. It was a pretty cool idea. I still have one. I suspect the Iced Tea is a pet project of his current wife, I've bought a few cases, my son in the Marine Corps, was a good draw for me.
Wrong conclusion #6:
People who didn't even listen to the radio show are condemning him for words and meaning he never said.
Remember, "Play it again, Sam" was never said in the movie.
