Russ Martin's Return

Re: He's BBAAAACCCKKKK!!!!

Whats so bizzare about this whole thing is that CBS has him back on the air. This goes beyond all proper thought process. It just amazes me that he has not been placed on paid leave. If they allow him back on and he goes to court etc... and it is proven that he IS guilty of the crime he is being accused of... the DALLAS CBS management should be fired ASAP along with Russ. Why would you want members of managment to stay around and represent your company when they are making a decision like that. Just to play it safe... Why wouldn't you place him on paid leave? I simply don't get it. I don't care if Russ comes in and brings a bible and his grandmothers gravestone and says "I swear on my etc....I am innocent"... you still HAVE to place him on paid leave.

This describes every man I've ever met!! Sorry dear.

You should give Russ a call. I hear he has an empty office in his place now you could occupy. All you have to do is clean his toilets, provide hangover remedies and make D*MNED sure his packages get delivered. You two will probably be very happy together.

Simple.....money. The station needs its biggest money maker.

I tuned in briefly to see if I'd catch anything about the mess he's in, but I guess I tuned in too late because they were talking about kids and credit cards by the time I listened.

At the start of the show he said something like 'I don't know what you may have heard but because it's still pending I can't talk about it. But when this is over I WILL talk about it'.

Re: He's BBAAAACCCKKKK!!!!

Jimbo Ellis...it only takes about 5 min when tuning in to Russ to get sickened and feel guilty hearing just that tiny bit...it's not funny. The fact that you would not only listen...but keep listening and enjoy it and even laugh along...YES YOU DO CONDONE RUSS!!! Russ has no remorse and thus would not show it on the air...he is about to get what he deserves...he is arrogant to the max. His ratings suck...

Quit it! It is only a matter of time until the trial starts and where he will be convicted of his crime. CBS should have already fired him...his on-air behavior has finally caught up to reality...in his personal life...then again his "Good Guy Act" he was putting on has been revealed...Russ Martin is a loser and a Domestic Abuser and should be in jail. The only people who are fans of him are probably abusers themselves or condone it by listening to him and laughing along.

Dittos!!!

Sad, but true. They can't just take him off the air without just cause. He hasn't been convicted of anything. Right now there are just charges. Believe me, I have turned his show off. And I'm not saying he's guilty, I don't know. But whether he's guilty or not, he thought it was amusing to put his mug shot up on his Myspace. And apparently from reading here, they just all thought it was something to joke about today. It's not funny. And oh joy, it sounds like I missed fireworks. I was a loyal listener for 7 years, but no more. He won't be laughing when the ratings come in because he will take a dip. A lot of people are just tired of him.

Re: Russ IS LIVE Today

Russ Fans,

Wake Up and smell reality! Russ has been charged with a 2nd degree felony with a deadly weapon and the evidence is strong against him. Russ's case has been accepted by the Tarrant Couny DA and they have a 90% conviction rate. Get over your Love affair and quit tarnishing your character by supporting this criminal. When you listen for long stretches of time and laugh at his crude and violent talk you condone his behavior, but you let everybody else know you agree with it and may even be just like him. Quit contributing to his ratings so this embarrassment to the DFW radio scene will end. Amen...please stop with the Religious overtones..this isn't KLTY...this is Russ you said Amen about so please stop.

Who's the Boss?

Will someone in the know about radio hierarchy please tell me who are the appropriate people to complain to about RMS being back on the air? I know to email Gavin & David, but who are their bosses, and/or who would be someone higher up to complain to?

And, PLEASE, all you Russ defenders, I have already read your previous posts. I'm aware of your opinions about trial by media, innocent until proven guilty, yada, yada and don't need to hear them again. Just as you are entitled to your opinion, so am I. I am entitled to tell the CBS management what I think about them putting him back on the air.

I was shocked today to hear him back on today. I mean really... Imus merely made a joke in bad taste, and he was yanked immediately. Someone's post last week pointed out that Russ's 'incident', unlike Imus's, was not on air, which is a valid point, but still..come on.... someone with even the possibility of a domestic violence conviction should scare the bejeezus out of CBS management. I'm also flabbergasted that there are sponsors out there still letting their ads featuring Russ continue to be played on air.

Any info about CBS management & their emails or snailmails would be appreciated.

Re: He's BBAAAACCCKKKK!!!!

I would assume that the JUST CAUSE would be the situation it's self? I find it hard that they would need anymore then the situation to make him take time off to this all was finished. However, I am not an attorney, but I did drive by a law office the other day.

Re: Who's the Boss?

I would suggest rather than write to CBS, a boycott of the advertisers might be more effective.

Re: Who's the Boss?

So you are already saying he is guilty. Who knows this could be a big lie from amy. But you are already saying the man is guilty. In all honesty the money he makes that station and CBS radio you are going to need a MASSIVE national campign to get anyones attention. His adviritziers spelling I know. Are not judging him. They seem to be waiting for the courts to decide if he is guilty or not.

I am not going to say guilt or not cause the man has not had is day in court. Until then he is innocent.

Boycotting advertisers wouldn't be productive. With our economy, how would an advertiser know that the downturn in business was becasue of RMS?

A letter writing campaign would do the most good. 8)

Are you aware that Texas is an at-will employment state? That means that, although they'd have to pay out his contract, he can be fired for any reason whatsoever.

Furthermore, I believe I read that CBS employs what's informally known as a "morality clause." That means that anything that reflects negatively on the station is a contract and/or employment violation. That would cover a second-degree felony arrest for domestic battery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Well that shows how repetitious he has become and proves my point about how I can never tell when the show is live or best of (the rare times I ever tune in). I tuned in just a while ago to see if Russ was on and they were talking about someone on the show who watches some program about knives. It sounded exactly like a conversation they had years ago. I thought it was Best Of and turned it off.

It's the same ole same ole, and not even funny. I was hoping they would dump him and have been for a year, looks like my prayers went unanswered.
