Russ Martin's Return

If RussFan and tifchase are cronies of the Russ show then that shows just how desperate they are in defending Russ instead of fleeing Russ for greener pastures at another station/show or another job where they can keep their good name. CBS is currently considering several options...New format for 105.3...either Music (Country or CHR) or simulcasting KRLD on 105.3 which is more likely since KIRO in Seattle will be moving to 97.3 on Aug. 12th...although I think this is a bone headed move. News/Talk fails on FM in the majority of the cases.

Let's see if the Russ Martin team can get past this and improve ratings.....

How good is your authority on that Redbull? I would love to see that station blown the damn hell away.

I've been out of the loop for the past two weeks, so if someone wouldbe so kind as to tell me...is Russ back on the air , or not??? From skimming this thread I couldn't actually tell if he was on or off.

Lastly, how did Russ' numbers come out from the book that just came out? Specifically, breaking out numbers for his daypart, how does he perform?

You guys think I work for Russ? That's awesome, dead wrong but awesome!!! :D

I never once got the impression that you're in the industry.

Yeah, I agree with tifchase, this is cool. I'm sorry, but I've never been in radio. I'm a regular 8-to-5 company guy in a completely different industry. And, as much fun as it might be to work with him on the show, I have a feeling I'd be taking a severe pay cut if I did. I'd love to know just who on the show you think I am. O'Malley, maybe?

Again, I don't think there's any confusing loyal listeners with those who are actually in the hallways day-to-day, doing the job and sharing the station fridge.

I personally have listened to his show for 4 years now and I love it! He and all his guys make me laugh...simply put. They are fun to listen to, and that is why he is so successful. I can't wait for him to come back on. Plus this AMy chick???? I don't believe her at all! My qualm with all of this BS is...Russ has had NUMEROUS girlfriends over the years....and never once have we heard anything of the sorts as to what this money grubbing girl is saying is true..

Why can't anyone see this, why would he all of a sudden start beating up on his girl friends? Don't believe it...and I think that is why he is still working for the station! ;)

He's been back on since the 28th. I am sure he'd appreciate it if you'd tune in to hear the show. You know, since you're such a big fan and all...

Russ has had NUMEROUS GF's? Did I not get the invite to that info? Last I heard he had extreme trouble getting a GF!

I quit listening to the guy sometime ago, his schtick got tired really quick. Too bad CBS doesnt have a brass pair to bring on someone who has an orginal idea or 2 in their heads. I mean, we have three schools (SMU,TCU,UNT) where we can pull decent up and coming talent, why havent they done it?.

It is my opinion that the majority of the RMS fans are not college educated & are instead of the blue-collar persuasion; that being said, they may not relate to intellectual talk radio, perhaps even liberal political talk, generated by college educated know-it-all twentysomethings. Russ's bit-based, whitetrash humor has broad appeal- from people with an 65 I.Q. to a 165 I.Q spanning all cultures and socio-economic groups. A more cerebral show brought to the masses by a recent SMU [d-bag] grad would not . Regardless, isn't that what AM radio is for? Intellectual, albeit predominantly conservative, talk?

There is no way in hell a recent college grad would be put in the drive time spot in the 5th largest market in America on a 100,000 watt station. Not even Gavin Spitttle (or the CBS monkeys over him) are that stupid.

Can you say "David Lee Roth???"

DLR is not a college graduate... He attended Pasadena City College (as did the Van Halens), although he did not graduate. :D
