Direct quote from the CEO from the Saga 2nd Quarter Earnings Conference call the other day:
"Quick summary for you, a short call today. Radio. All markets are good, except Portland. We mentioned that on the last call. And we've asked management to bring the cars into the shop for an inspection. Change out and tune up. Mechanics are standing by at this moment on that."
Huh? Who decided to universally eliminate Arbitron in all markets without understanding the impact and what could happen (and did) in Portland as a result. Was it Jon Shannon, Mike Violette or Chuck Igo who made this decision? Was it even Cary? You can inspect the cars all you want. It won't change what is going on. A serious mistake was made regarding Arbitron in Portland and the result is an apparent loss of much more revenue than the nickels you'd thought you'd save.
