wow, what a vid of wktu, (post above) . that's crazy

WABC TV is also having issues with power dimming.

They just lost power again at WABC TV [webstream is showing a outdoor camera shot with anchors talking]

So are WHTZ, WKTU, WWPR etc. off the air due to CC in the dark? Or are they on generator or simulcasting TV or AM radio?

only have heard of 'KTU?? is the cluster in the same building?

On the AM side, WMCA, WSNR, WNYC-AM, WINS, WLIB, and WWRL all seem to be off the air. Dead air or what sounds like it on WADO. As others mentioned, 1010 WINS is broadcasting on 101.1 (WCBS-FM) and WCBS-AM is simulcasting on WWFS 102.7. WFAN is simulcasting on 92.3, for what that's worth, but they seem to be passing on useful information. So kudos to CBS. CC FM stations, very helpfully, all seem to be cranking out music at this hour, as if nothing were wrong. Gosh, thanks Clear Channel. You contribute so little.
WNYC-FM and WQXR sound like dead air at this hour, though they were broadcasting earlier tonight.

Oh, wait, no, KTU is playing music. Dunno what I heard earlier though.

earlier one of their DJs (around 9:30pm) posted a video online of their studios dark.. Any one know if they are at a different location or had power restored?

Z100 / WKTU NY's web-streams is now being re-directed to what appears to be "24/7 News Clear Channel Newyork Feed"

their page says "Due to power outage, our NYC station streams r down. Working quickly to resolve. Tune to 24/7 News for Sandy updates" [So they have replaced the "down" streams with Clear Channel's Voice Tracked iHeart News Feed].

What is on air at the actual clear channel FMs?

Can anyone up in the NYC vicinity (or Jersey Shore) check the radio dial and see whats coming in tonight...
anything unusual DX? and whats really missing from the dial? Are any Philly FM stations making it up to NYC?

Z100, Lite, Q104.3, Power 105.1 are all on the air. Z, KTU, Q104.3 and Lite are all broadcasting music. KTU has had some info updates, Power seems to be music with some info/nonsense interspersed. WNYC seemed to be on greatly reduced power for a while but seems to be back on.

WINS is still off the air on 1010 but is being heard now on 92.3. Fresh and CBS-FM have gone back to regular programming, spinning tunes.
WQXR seems to be back on reduced power.
Channel 7 still simulcasting on 98.7 and 1050.
I am in Manhattan which is terrible for DXing, but WMCA (570) and WSNR (620) are off the air. I've heard something faraway-sounding on 540, but unidentifiable so far. I've heard a mix of signals on 560, earlier one in Spanish, but now what sounds like WFIL. I heard a mix of Radio Reloj on 570 along with another signal in Spanish. And on 580, probably either Worcester or WHP.

I bet CFRB is just blowing off 1010...

WCBS-TV was superb tonight. BIG KUDOS to Chris Wragge, Tony Aiello, the Mobile Weather Lab and the other reporters and anchors of Channel 2. You all did great tonight! :)

I completely agree about WCBS. Major kudos to Lonnie Quinn as well. He's been on all day and night since I've been watching, and doing great work. I've been impressed with what I've seen on channels 4, 7 and 11 as well.

Sandy Claims WINS Transmitter

As a result of Hurricane Sandy, 1010 WINS is now broadcasting on 92.3 FM. Also, Richard Neer is now on WFAN.

Re: Sandy Claims WINS Transmitter

It has become an unofficial "flip" at this point from CHR to All News on 92.3. CBS will have a hard decision to make in the next week or so After all the cleanup from Sandy. If the 1010 stick is completely destroyed, it will take months to replace.
