Santa doesn't visit Nassau but Scrooge does

not likley that 106.9 will flip they seem to like being bad country

You're right. Current management doesn't seem to care about that stick at all. Just sayin' if I owned it, I'd seriously consider filling the classic rock format hole that'll happen in January.

I can't help but shake my head over the cluster***k Nassau created in NH. They bought radio stations that were viable, profitable, and connected to their communities, then promptly started doing things their way. And when the local staffs tried to warn them they fired them. Now they are desperately trying to prop up their struggling operations while planning their exit strategy. They were so arrogant and full of contempt for the people who ran those stations before them. I'm reminded of one of Steve Chartrand's favorite sayings: "Pigs get fat. Hogs get slaughtered." The old fashioned way of making money wasn't good enough for Nassau. I'd laugh if it weren't so sad.

You hit the nail right on the head Promo. More blood in the hallways at the Hooksett cluster: Dawn
Parris from Sales(15 years), Claire Gauthier, Copywriter (28years, the longest serving local employee) and Joe Sullivan
(Asst. Production Director) have all beren let go in addition to Roger.

Last one to leave, turn out the lights. :-[

I totally agree with ret vet. Robot hit it dead on. Nassau doesn't know how to operate their properties and they seem to fire anyone who DOES know particularly if they have the nerve to speak up and try to help get things back on track. Incredible. Here's a new "brand" to go along with your Franks, Wolfs and Hawks..."Hubris 104.3."

And tell me, old wise one, probuttonpusher, what is good country? Who are you? Do you ever have ANYTHING good to say about anything/anyone, ever? You sound like a bitter, bitter person to take a shot at a station in a thread that has nothing to do with them.

good Country... whats that? Never heard of that for 8 years in NYC ;D
Got enough of it as it is to go crazy up here ;)

I felt like posting something

I never though that anyone would lay off salespeople. Aren't they the ones who bring money in??? ;) Dawnie is one of the best. Someone at Nassau isn't thinking with the right head, methinks.

Im sorry have you EVER HEARD wscy? The jocks on the sat service arnt the best. The processing is alittle off, but I do like the morning guy. JR is very competent! See I can say something nice Ray. 106.9 was mentioned in this board, that if they were smart they would change to classic rock, that wont happen. Its just a fact. Fisher seems to like thing the way they are since nothing has really changed on that station since it started some 10 years ago.

I think Heather should let everybody know she is a former employee of
Northeast Communications the owners of WSCY. Her current employer
Saga broadcasting will be very interested in her posts.
Heather is a talented air person , but knows NOTHING about the business
of radio. The stations she attacks are NOT changing formats because
their statments are full of BLACK ink unlike the Nassau staions that are
changing formats because they are deep in the RED.
Heather is a VERY un-happy person !!!!!!!!

B'castking,

Easy tiger! "Outing" someone and trying to put their job in jeopardy??? Try the decaf. I thought it was "good to be the king." Sounds a lot like you fired her, but that wasn't enough! If things are in the black for WSCY then GOOD for them! They'll keep the country format. Let Heather keep her job. This business is tough enough without that noise you're slinging.

I work for Saga and I can tell you management is fine with employees posting to these boards as long as no non-public info is disclosed. My GM knows I post here and is fine with it. Where Heather worked then or now is irrelevant. If SCY is making money then good for Northeast. IMHO they could make more as a classic rocker once Nassau flips the Hawks to //WEEI, but I have nothing more than a semi-educated hunch to back that up.

Who's Heather? Which is her nome de plume? Why do I care so much? Further more, why isn't Days of Our Lives on at 10am anymore? Now I have to come here for daytime viewing.
Punchier than usual (and uninterested in context clues),
rt!

I'm Heather. I USED to work at Northteast com till I left in March to come to Saga. I like working at saga, alot! Here I am allowed to voice my opinion, unlike some other places I worked at in the past. I am a VERY happy person, now. I will admit I was NOT about 9 months ago. Ask any of my current coworkers they will tell ya. Now when I was at the other place I was very unhappy. For some reason I didnt fit in there. Maybe my lack of knowledge of radio. I do thank you for recognizing my on air talent. I guess thats how I have stayed in radio for over 15 years and have never been fired from a radio gig. When I heard that SCY was in the black I was happy for you, guess you wont be hearing the "its been another bad year" speach this year! GREAT for you guys!

As for my stupidity about radio, am I wrong in the fact that within the last 10 years not much has changed on WSCY? Yes Jim left and JR took mornings. Yes every few month the sweepers are refreshed. But as for Jones it really hasnt changed much. Different promos but same concept. Either call in at the cue or go out and register at kinda things. Love those boxes! Same boot logo, same brown color, in fact same photos on the website since well, WOW I cant even remember THAT van! Huh.... Remember what Sheryl Crow once said " A change will do you good!"

Wow...some bitter, petty people on this board. I thought I'd get some insight as to the state of radio in the north country. So glad I left this business for medical sales. I really think probuttonpusher (or Heather) and Broadcastking should kiss and make up.

Hey Everyone new to the board, I two work for Saga Part time and was Full-time for quite some time, but recently had to change careers because radio doesn't really pay well when owning your own house. I wanted to comment about Heather and I remember when she first started up there in Franklin and always enjoyed listening to her. She sounded very friendly and energetic and I actually miss hearing here but her replacement seems to be doing very well. I would've never had thought she was unhappy up there. Good luck to you Heather with Saga. You picked a good company to work for!!!!

Just got word that Nassau/NH has axed Roger Parmalee (WNHW-93.1) who has worked in Concord radio since God wore short pants. Good luck to Roger, we'll listen for you at WEVO.

And where did Nassau find his replacement? He is unlistenable? I could do better radio than him and I have been out of the buisness for over 15 years.

Thank you Bob! Yes I love Saga. If you miss me too much you can catch me on the web on my new station, we stream on the web. Just be warned its not the same music as I was playing before. I went from CHR to Classic rock.

Like I have stated many time, how Saga seems to treat it's people, it seems to be working. They also have longevity here owning the former "Sunshine Group" in Portland, Manchester, and Springfield MA for quite a while. I have never seen anyone rip them on this board..

Wow, good to finally know who "Probuttonpusher" really is! You've ripped on some people pretty hard on this board, Heather! I hope for your sake that things continue to work out for you at Saga, because after all of the trash you've talked on these boards, it'll be pretty tough for you to get a radio job with anyone else around here!!!!
