FPB said:I share his politics, but actually, I don't like the guy, and this is not the first time I've said that. That he has any audience at all is due to the fact that he's the only progressive voice available on traditioinal radio. Any morning competition and he'd be gone.
"the only reason he's in radio is because he's buying time"
OK. The only reason why Howie Carr is in radio is because he got chummy with Jerry Williams.
So... what's your point? People have followed all kinds of paths getting into radio.
The only reason Samantha Clemens is in radio is because she's buying time. And you think she's pretty good.
Jeff buys that time, not Samantha, get your facts straight please. Any progressive talk on the station is brokered by Jeff. And Howie Carr is a HIRED radio talent (I am using the word talent in it's literal sense here, I know many folks will feel he is in no way talented, but I digress) and Jeff is not, that's all I'm saying here. Howie also established himself in another medium, which Jeff never has, at least not in this market. Just pointing out some obvious differences (aside from ratings & billing, of course).
Samantha used to be a regular on Feinberg's show on WRKO a few years back and had another show on 91.5, not sure whether that was a time buy or not. It still gives her more radio experience than Santos. Where I agree with out is that it's really sad for lefties that that's all they have to listen to to get something from their viewpoint.
