Saturday Morning 105.3 Changes

David and Tammy and the Autoflex Show were also cancelled. Anyone hear if they are going on another station. They always had good car info.

the Wolfe swap shook the deck for Saturdays at the fan. John told me that Bigby used him pulling out as an excuse to finally do what he had been threatening all along. Icing everything. He told me that The Fan is going back to a Live 105.3 format during the NFL off season. So it's going to be Cowboys, Cowboys, and calf fries. Rangers and Nascar may get iced also. I'm pretty certain that Rodney Anderson is moving to John Clay's 8-9 slot that left vacant.

So 105.3 is reverting to the hot talk format? If so, great! It made no sense removing the format in cities where it worked, hopefully CBS/LA is reading my post!

Wow. These people get paid to do this stuff? I want in on this sham because I don't think I could do any worse at it.

So back to Live but what are they going to do for talent? I see Stearn may be returning to terrestrial. Let's see, oh, Pugs and Kelly are looking for work. Uh, Russ isn't doing anything these days and he's still under conract. Big Dick needs a gig. They've got Jagger sitting right there.

Watch 'em pull something like that and call it a "brilliantly convenient" programming move and slap each other on the back for all of their management prowess.

The problem I see is that if they go hot-talk in the offseason, what makes Bigby, CBS et al that the listeners will return during the football season.

Granted, Bigby's "expertise" has brought them absolutely nothing so far (something like 20th IN THEIR DEMO)(not just overall, but 20th (or worse) Men 25-54...)
(and realize that to be 20th Men 25-54 you're not only getting beat by the usual suspects (the sports stations, the rock stations, a couple of teh hispanic stations, etc) but "Chick": stations like the Mix and KVIL have more men listening to them than a station that is supposed to appeal to men)

So, what's next? Caller-based Hot Talk..? Ugh, I can just imagine how awful that will be.

Probably sometime between the end of the Super Bowl and 6:00 Monday morning. Did anyone notice Jagger brought the "heckletron" back out? Is Bigboy heading back to Motown with his tail tucked? ;D

If this is true what's going to happen to Newey & Richie, Barsky & Greg, Arnie et al? I assume Jagger is staying since he was never a real sports show to begin with.

If The Fan reverted back to the hot talk format, who would be likely to take over the 7-10 or whatever slot? Leykis is off the air right now.

If this change happens will Russ come back since he is still under contract? or can they make him come back?If Russ came back I don't think he will get JD Ryan back. didn't they have a falling out?

After reading this rumor and several other rumors about the Fan, I doubt it is going anywhere anytime soon.

I hope I am wrong because like another thread mentions, the shows are all over the place and do not have focus.

The Fan is not going to revert to Hot Talk. They still have contracts in place with the Cowboys & the Rangers and CBS has flipped a couple more of their FMs to "The Fan" in the last few weeks.

The station is not "flipping" to hot talk but merely going to focus on more hot talk since Cowboy season is over. I witnessed this first hand last year at The Fan when Cowboy season ran out.

They are going to talk more about "guy talk" ( mimicking the Ticket most likely) because lets face it...Outside of Newy, no one on that station knows anything about Mavericks, Stars or Rangers. You can even tell the hosts do not want to even research or educate themselves about it. All that station wants to talk about is Cowboys, you can see that now when they still bring up topics involving the Cowboys even though there is nothing to talk about.

CBS won't flip it now, maybe down the line they will. Until that station can gain some credibility with Sports fans they will continue to hover around last place and 3rd among the sports stations.

They tried this last summer and their ratings dropped.

Did it flip yet? If not, maybe it will flip in a couple of months...
