Savage Update

I don't see anything on the KSFO website to indicate that Michael Savage will return to that station. October 23rd is less than a week away. Wouldn't they now be promoting his return, if it were a fact?

Michael Savage tells Radio Ink that KSFO in San Francisco and KLIF in Dallas are two of the 22 stations set to re-launch his program "Savage Nation" on Tuesday. WABC in New York will also become a Savage affiliate at some point. After parting ways with Talk Radio Networks (TRN), Savage signed a deal with Cumulus Media Networks who will now syndicate his show. Savage would not say who the other companies were that wanted his program, but he did say he turned down big money to do an Internet-only show. Listen to our short interview with Savage about his new deal, his surprise one-hour show on the Internet, and why he is bullish on terrestrial radio.
"The Savage Nation" will go live on Tuesday, October 23.

Cumulus Co-chief Operating Officer John Dickey said, “As we aggressively create radio’s most compelling mix of show hosts, the addition of Michael Savage is a milestone in our determined efforts to provide our listeners nationwide with the best programing in the business."
In late September, Savage said he would be off the air for "some time." He posted a message on his website that said, "After a grueling legal battle that cost him and his family dearly, Michael Savage can announce he won." Savage filed a lawsuit against TRN in 2010 over his contract and says he is now "free to work with whomever he wishes in the radio industry from this day forward."

Mark Levin is he with cumulus ? I wonder if the feud will end? What do you get when you put 2 ornery talk show hosts in a room? An argument!

Here's a smart man who signed a contract with TRN, a company run by the family of Christian cult leader Roy Masters. His followers are called "Roybots", and they've taken over many of the businesses in southern Oregon towns such as Cave Junction, Medford, etc.

So, why is Michael Savage surprised that he'd have such a restrictive contract and have a hard time getting out of it? This is what cults do. If TRN is tied directly to the Roy Masters cult is a matter of speculation, but the evidence seems to support the idea that there's a lot of Roy Masters influence on TRN in the way contracts are written.

Mark Levin wasn't he a local host on WABC at one time?

What problem did Savage have with his contract? Apparently he was earning $10 million and he was on in drive time.

Will Cumulus pay him that much for being on at night?

Hmm! I remember there was a phrase that a former KSFO staff said of Savage local KSFO show 20 years. "THe Savage weiner"

I have heard the promos. He will indeed start on KSFO 6-9p next week. Who knows on the pay, but knowing Savage, he's getting more than he was getting out of TRN. Watch David Kaye post "How can you say that? Do you really know Savage." Yes, David, I really know Savage. End of story.

I can remember Savage had Roy Masters on his show once and was kissing his feet. Guess they are not buddies anymore.

That Laura Inghram is with TRN isn't she? I wonder if she is a member of the Roybots?

(I did not know about to Oregon deal, but you might have a lot of people who are hooked on meth and a cult is a place they go for salvation. Trade the Bible for the bottle I guess, but it is better than driving drunk.)
