Savannah HAD a rock station?

Russ said:
u guys are hilarious. why in the world do you think 98.7 is doing poorly?

I don't. Sure, there may be some listener fatigue from the non-stop Christmas music, but I'm sure 98.7 is fine.

Curious you didn't say we're hilarious in thinking that 94.1 is doing poorly.........

We will all know more when WTYB is sold. If, that is the station that is sold.

I seem to recall reading that WTYB was the station to be put up for sale. Is there a chance that cumulus may sell another station instead?

G

Any news on a pending sale of whichever station Cumulus is placing on the market (presumably 103.9)?

G

No word yet; but what is certain is since this madness has started: "JustPhil" has been "Flipped" because he no longer works for CC Savannah. Cumulus has to sell a "stick" very soon. WQBT is not getting "flipped" because it is still # 1 with women 18-34, tied with WAEV and WEAS, and lastly! "12+ numbers" mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in todays radio world. WYKZ is #1 in its target demo as well as WLVH. Neither groups want ANOTHER male dominated signal. Why would Cumulus get yet ANOTHER!?!?!?! They have a "male dominated" station in WJCL.

Now, continue to "whine" about what savannah "needs" or deal with what is reality.
HTOWLER; please get a new life because the old is tired. By the way, how is WIBT doing these days? Last time I looked "CHR/RHY" stations in any market aren't doing so well.

Oh yeah, was my "spelling correct"? I wouldn't want to waste another minute of someones' life! (In Savannah no doubt) I sometimes forget how "exciting", "fast-paced" and "aggressive" Savannah is these days; so please PLEASE continue to compare a 50+ market to market number 157 (genius).

Cumulus' male oriented/dominated station is actually WIXV, but whatever.

Thanks for your words of love for Savannah, Mr. SAV radio FAN, aka, mr. 12 posts. Your words of luv are thought provoking.

Thank you for the correction Upstate A.K.A Guru A.K.A "hidden email address" Location "Slow-vannah."

My point is this: The entire thought behind this "brain childs'" original post "Justphil."

Doesn't even live here anymore (who only has 28 posts).

Ponder this: How about "we" (Savannah radio experts that post here everyday) flip WAEV???
1) Its 100k Watts.
2) It would cheaper to run than what it currently costs.
3) "CHR" is a dying format.
4) "lets ask Russ" can he program the Rock format.

There are (2) Urban Mainstreams and (2) Urban AC's for a reason; if you really want a ROCK station so bad, "Flip" WAEV becasue we certainly don't need a CHR/RHY station in the market. (Which still makes no since, ZAT had several opportunities to be ROCK; but the format just isn't working).

Kiss certainly isn't going anywhere and neither are any of the CC stations, especially to make way for a rock outlet. Cumulus just flipped WZAT and they're not going to change things up on any of their other frequencies either. Would I love a Rock/Alternative like, say, Radio 104.5 in Philly? Absolutely, but I don't see it happening at this juncture.

Hey! I still live here, kind of. I still have the house and 12 acres in Ridgeland. At least, I'm not a *****, everybody knows who I am. Just because I could buy a couple of radio stations, does not mean I will do so. And yes, just like my friends the Dickey boys, I am talking about mostly daddy's money. I just admit it. And, I helped him make a lot of it when I was a stock broker back in the day. You seem to forget that most people that are in radio, are for the most part, idiots! It has always been the refuge of the less than intelligent people of media, except for some of the small time owners like Jerry Rogers. For the most part, radio has attracted the less than desirable, if you will. I love radio but, hate what has been done to it. John Wetherbee was a great radio guy at CC SAV and got it. And, knew what needed to be done but, was not allowed to do it. Now, he will take over for Prokop. props to him. He's a very attractive man! (inside joke) Radio is not dead, but it's getting there. Formats is not even the half of it. When you bump clients that are spending money, because maybe Obama spent a dollar more for a spot locally, you got serious problems. It's obvious, that corporate was dressing up the company, agencies be damned. They figured, they wouldn't own the company when it became a problem! But, what do you know. They still own it. And my stock isn't worth shit. Along with many other peoples. Next time you want to debate me on ANYTHING savradiofan, bring it. It's not hard to figure out that you have NO idea, about real money or finance. I will now go back to sucking on my silver spoons! lol.... Filled with Maker's Mark. lol...

What do you have so much against me I haven't posted in this thread for 4 months.

WIBT Still Sounds too Top 40/Pop to me, thought it would be better after DZL but I guess not

Leona Lewis Bleeding Love
Sara Bareilles Love Song
Madonna Feat. Justin Timberlake 4 Minutes
Colbie Caillat Bubbly
Jesse McCartney Leavin
Jupiter Rising Electropop

All in Regular Rotation

This is more Pop than KIIS.

BTW I wasn't suggesting a Rhythmic this time for 94.1. Might be a good Flip to Rock.
