Scott Chesner's Debut on KETK

But they (Belo8) don't really allow people to have much personality on-air, unless it is Dale Hansen.

...or anyone Dale loves jibing. You ever noticed how animated - well, even more so - Dorkus is since their lovers quarrel got press on other formats?! Oy! I never knew cumulonimbus and high level altostratus clouds could be sooooooooooooooooooo exciting. Somebody stop me! ;D

Well you've never seen Steve McCauley talk about storm fronts and northerners blow into town then!

I've never seen anybody get such a "woody" over approaching weather fronts. I think he is going to burst out of his skin sometimes.

Steve was somewhat like that at his previous station in Amarillo too. At least he had more depth and brains than the guy before Steve in that chair.

Are we referring to:

Jim (Jane) Littleton
Mark Matthis
Neal Barton
Elisa Robin
Pablo Pereira
Bill "Y95" Evans
Nancy Snell

or any of the countless other passers-through that have graced the weather desk over the years?? Steve is about the only guy I trust with weather on weekends. Too bad KCH didnt make him Troys Heir Apperant.

Close...it's actually "JAN". He/she doesn't go by "Littleton" for the surname anymore.

Add Neal Barton to that list.

I understood that McCauley didn't want the top job...he runs a weather forecasting service from his home, and apparently has other irons in the fire that take up a lot of time. BTW, Steve's just as nice and friendly a guy in person as he is on the air. I always enjoy working with him.

Mike, If that the case with Steve, I understand why he wouldnt take the top spot them. But, we could've done better than Pete Dorkus..er..Delkus.

Sorry, I meant the station Steve worked for in Amarillo. Before Steve was made chief meteorman, the previous chief had been sitting in the seat too long and there were rumors of alcohol issues. Steve was *much* better, although it was really different for the veteran to be on in the morning instead after they got swapped out. It's still trippy to me to hear Steve's name and voice here, even after 14+ years I've been away from the Amarillo market. I would guess weather presentation up there came down a peg or 2 since Steve came down here.

Who was it in Abliene that made the "Nip in the air" comment??

Mark Matthis - Colorado, I guess?
Neal Barton - Over in East Texas as a News Guy
Elisa Robin - Whatever happened to her?
Pablo Pereira - Same for him?
Bill "Y95" Evans - WABC Chief Weatherman, back up on GMA
Nancy Snell - Isn't she still there?

I knew that "Jan" Littleton moved somewhere out west and became a nurse. Mark went to austin, where I saw him at the speakeasy every weekend, before he moved to Charlotte and then Colorado Springs. Neal Barton became a Scott Sams clone when he became a dual news/weather guy. Elise Robin, the last time I saw her was on Weather Channel a few years back. I saw Bill on WABC when I went to NYC awhile back, still a decent meterologist and an all around good guy when it comes to helping out others. He's like the NY version of Troy Dungan with all the charity work. I knew Nancy Snell when she started out at KXXV-Waco, great lady who I think left the Dallas market after TXCN pulled a titanic.

I still miss Trey and Bill, "The Morning Guys" on Y-95 !!

I'll never forget, they had a bet between one another and Bill lost. He had to go water skiing on Lake Caroline in Las Colinas during
the winter. I went out to watch it.

I also miss Wendy from Y-95. Easy on the eyes.

:)

Wendy ended up at the "new" KHKS, I remember that because I had a class project where I had to interview Kidd Kraddick and Michael Blake, who both gave me some really good insight into the business.

hmmmmmm...let's see...this thread was started 22+ months ago about Scott Chesner...now there's discussion about Y-95. Can you say "off topic?" ::)
