So what did Joel emerge from the bunker with?

a tan and the top 5 at 9, his show extends to 10 am everyday and they take the top 5 stores of the morning and talk about each in more detail. more live and local is good !

True that. Ar they treating the stories neutrally or is it designed to skew one way or the other?

Joel is pretty good about not taking a side in most cases. and the idea is to let caller call in and comment on the story.

now that said, the face book page and ihartradio comment section are almost 100% Negative about the loss of an hour of Glenn Beck.

They crab when local is taken away then they crab when more local is added. I think the vast majority are simply what I call PPP's. Perpetually Pissed People.

Joel goes 5:30a-10am next Monday.... so we had some good guesses.

Was this a very lucky guess on your part? ??? In any case, you get the prize!! Joel wanted to keep this under wraps. Joel was inside his bunker some of some time last week when he was off the air. He also said he took off some time to play golf.

Yes, That is one of the reason Joel is a pretty good talk show host, he is a pretty objective person. So, the last hour of his show I will
listen and enjoy now. Joel said he will do the extra hour until his boss tells him to do something else.

And the xtra hour interferes with the Big Bass Brothers in what way?

And to add insult to their injury, TVN ought to have Shawn Ireland start hosting the remnants of SMOP. That would send them over the top.

looks like they deleted all mention of top 5 at 9 on the website as well. so like the government would say to us "never happened"

So what do listeners want. Local (as they screamed when Sat Open Phones got reduced hours and the Sunday hours got reduced) or syndicated? Or only ultra libertarian radio so they can rant about the government and hear all the horrible things going on. And no, I'm not a head in the sand person.

WTVN must have gotten backlash from somewhere because no Joel after the 9 o'clock news today.

Something was wrong on Tuesday morning because the Ariel Castro's kidnapping story wasn't even mentioned as a top trending topic after the
9 o'clock news. It should have been a major trending story last Tuesday.

"Listeners" are probably not a homogenous group here. You could have two different factions, one who want Open Phones and the other who want the political ranting and raving. If the winner is whoever can throw the loudest tantrum like a kid that had its toy pulled out of its hands, the knee-jerk conspiracy ranters obviously win.

@Schmave- Scott gave his notice and took a job with the city . Scott started out as an intern for The Morning Zoo and later became one of WTVN's news anchors which he did for many years and he will be greatly missed in the newsroom!

Thanks. He is good people. I've known him from some of his assignments at ThisWeek News and, of course, have him heard on 610 for many years.
