SCOTT TAYLOR GONE FROM LEGENDS 102.7

I am curious but isn't it a required policy to advertise job openings to allow for qualified candidates to apply, or isn't that a set policy in broadcasting?

You're required to "recruit," but exactly how you go about recruiting is not well defined.

Maybe Candi Clarke will come back to Rochester to do mornings on Legends! I would drive to Rochester every morning just to hear her on the air again.

Happy to see you're back in radio again Paul.

Paul, thanks for the mention... and in some good company I might add!! But sadly some of those people are no longer with us...

Thanks John and Jim!

Jim....I smell a WKLX Staff Reunion on the horizon! Looks like there are enough of us left to make that work. Would be a LOT of fun...

Mornings have been filled for WLGZ, but I am sworn to not say who it is just yet.

So if it's not Mike Vickers, it must be...you(Paul Jason)? You also worked at WKLX a long time ago, did you not? If you are the one, congratulations in advance. If it's not you, then it's some other former KLX/BBF-FM personality and/or programmer?

Cee...Thanks for the promotion, but it is NOT me either. Like Mike Vickers, I have a full-time job that is way to lucrative (and secure!) to ever go back to radio full-time. Yes, I am the other former WKLX guy currently at Legends 102.7FM . I did Morning Drive back then. My good friend Mike Vickers was our Midday Guy. Since we're throwing out old names from WKLX, how about Rockin' Rich Albert, Alex James, Jim Edwards, Curt Monday, Jim Lawrence, Steve Springer, Dee Colins, Dean Close, Joe Deane, Les Tyler, Sherry Smith, and former Program Director Bill Tod.

PJ - you forgot a few of the REAL superstars at 'KLX - engineering GOD Mike Bostic and parttimers Dave Andrews, Rich "Jumper" Jones and "Sheriff" Andy Taylor! :)

I think the 'KLX reunion idea is a good one - maybe it can be done "virtually" with Myspace or Facebook.

Whatever happened to Bill Tod? He had a terrific ballsy voice.
I enjoyed hearing his gig.
Bill Tod Passed on years ago, and is no longer with us. Tragic Really. If you want to know the story, message me, and I'll fill you in.

Well here's the "Cliff Notes" version: After leaving Rochester Bill took a programming gig in Vegas for a few years then left for Alburquerque. Sadly, it was there where Bill decided to end his life.

I still cannot stream this station (I guess they're not Mac friendly), however when I was looking at their website I saw that R.J. Jordan is on their staff. Is that the same guy (has to be) who was the PD at B-104.7 in Syracuse? What does he do for them now? He could help the PD get the music issues fixed in less than a week! Not to mention he'd be a great candidate to pair with someone in the morning.

It IS the same RJ from Syracuse. He is working full-time in the record industry, and is no longer involved in radio except for some part-time stuff with us at Legends. Like I said, the list a heavy hitters on the staff at Legends reads pretty well. It's gonna get interesting!!!

Paul - a reunion sounds great! Except for you and occasionally Noonan (with whom I worked at 'BEE, not 'KLX), I haven't seen any of the old crew in years!

Rob - Hear Hear on Bostic and Jumper Jones! I didn't work with Andy at 'KLX (I do now at 'DKX though), and I got to know Dave Andrews when then-Heritage Media bought 'KLX and he moved over to the B. Forman Bldg. Anyone know where he is now? He was a good guy, and a good talent...

Ironically, the last time I talked with Bill Tod was while he was in Reno -- I called Bill to see if he'd take a look at Dave Andrews as Heritage had given Dave his termination notice (his shift was to be VT'd). I learned a couple years later through a pal of Rich Albert of Bill's sad passing.

The WKLX Reunion is now officially ON! Myself, Mike Vickers, Jim Jordan Feurstein, and Rich "Jumper" Jones are the fist to sign on. Anyone else with info on any former WKLX People, please let me know so they can be included. MORE TO FOLLOW...... ### END END END END END END ###

I was just wondering if Dee Alexander is in a position to be picked up by WLGZ.

Last I knew, Dee Alexander was attached to Entercom. They are probably going to place her in mornings on one of ther stations down the road.

The rumor, circulating among ad agencies at least, is that Entercom is waiting for Tony Infantino's contract to expire with Stephens Media so that Entercom and team up Tony and Dee once again. As of this moment Dee might be under contract to Entercom, but she doesn't have an on-air gig.
The last ratings book showed a decline in audience for WRMM 101.3, which some media "experts" predicted the demise in ratings was partly do to the breaking up of the popular and long-running morning team.
