Scott Woodside

Is he just filling in or what? Heard him doing traffic on 106.7 last week and then spinning the tunes yesterday.

Also heard him tell anyone coming up behind an accident to be like Hilary Clinton and move far left of the accident. I rolled over with laughter when I heard that. Miss him being a regular. I recently heard an aircheck from WQXI from 1973, and he was mentioned on it doing traffic. How long has he been in radio?

Greg Talmadge is in the hospital so Scott is filling in for him doing traffic. I didn't know he was pulling part time duty at 101 too. Good for him.

What is going on with Greg?

He's been in radio for many years. He was a part of the original CHR Z93 in the seventies. He went to WPGC in Washington, Z93's sister station, in the mid-seventies to fill in when WPGC's jocks went on strike.
When one of the WPGC jocks, Jim Elliott, crossed the picket line, the station put Elliott on in mornings with Woodside as the newscaster. It accidentally turned into a wildly-popular morning show, Elliott & Woodside. Then around 1980, D.C. competitor Q107 hired them. The show lasted through the mid-eighties. Then Woodside returned to Atlanta and was teamed with Barry Chase at Z93 in the early nineties.
Edited by RoddyFreeman on 03/19/06 09:25 PM.

Wow, I've heard a lot about this site, but have never logged on before and or registered. Someone told me I should check out the comments.

It's true I'm not dead! Started in broadcasting when I was 16 in Columbus Georgia. Long history.

It's really a great feeling to read nice things, about my work, and of course, it's great to see that people actually remember.

My real success was in Washington DC but I guess you can say I had a pretty good ride here in Atlanta as well.

All I can say to fellow broadcasters who read this: Appreciate every day you're on the air, and save some of that money you're raking in, because you will be replaced eventually. It's only a matter of time. You want to be prepared when it happens. Because once you're out it's nearly impossible to get back in and it's frustrating when you can't.

I'll stop there. If you're interested in my broadcasting past, the best way to do that is to go to google and type my name into the search window. There's enough to keep you busy for hours.

Thanks again for the kind words! You rock!

Scott (alive and well in Roswell)!
