Sean McLaughlin to KPHO?

Brian --

I think the answer is pretty clear. He didn't really make a splash at the national level and essentially reached his level of incompetence. So, before Phoenix forgot him, he is coming back to the place where he really shined. Actually, it's a very smart move!

O.K., I'll bite. So who is your example of a fabulous national-level TV weatherguesser? To me Sean was probably as good as any. Still, it was a good move on his part to come back home and a coup for KPHO.

I think a national-level TV weatherguesser can move on to bigger and better things. See Al Roker, Spencer Christian, Mark McEwen, and Willard Scott.

True dat. Great move for both and shows that KPHO wants their news to be on top.

At the national level, you need some sort of gimmick -- ala Willard Scott, Al Roker, etc. Sean was a younger version of Joe Witte (remember him for 20 years on Weekend Today, NBC News at Sunrise, and announcer on Today) -- just sort of blended into the background. Not bad but nothing memorable. That's all I'm saying.

I have a capital idea.
Why don't you snail-mail or e-mail Sean and ask what happened?
I have a legit idea as to why Sean came back.

You have no clue as to the discussion between employee and employer.
I truely hope you are not an agent.

BTW, Thanks for speaking for Phoenix viewers ("before Phoenix forgot him").
I sincerely thank you for speaking for me.

I personally don't care. The fact is that he didn't make a splash at the national level (that was my opinion before I moved to Phoenix). KPHO probably threw half a million dollars at him. So, then, he came back solely for the money. Man, I wish I were his agent. My cut would be HUGE!!!!

I have a brilliant idea...why the h*ll don't you tell us why Sean is coming back???

I seriously doubt that you have any idea what's going on there... ::) ::) ::)
