KIRO-FM dominates. Yes, Hawks help, but their weekday programming is best in the market. They deserve the high PPM's. Bonneville knows how to win.
We agree to disagree here. The numbers are there. They can't by argued.
From a Radio Discussions perspective, they can and will be argued. After that, I'd say in about about 8 to 10 posts, the thread will evolve to translators and KMCQ.
Give me some facts on why KOMO is better at keeping your drink in your mouth.
KFNQ moved up to a .3, seems less local was the way to go (or did they finally install a Voltair).
Looks like Sinclair has their Voltairs installed. And you know Voltair issued a firmware update recently.
Do you need to buy a separate Voltair for your translator? A translator with a Voltair, playing Kokomo.
Would Kokomo be a good bumper music option for KOMO or maybe KUOW?
Did I cover it all?
Talk on!
I have to admit I find it interesting listening to the Sinclair radio properties knowing the control strings are not a matrix of what they are doing in other markets.
We agree to disagree here. The numbers are there. They can't by argued. Dave Ross and John Curley for the first six hours of the day out do anything KOMO can offer. Ron and Don are obnoxious, agreed, but sometimes obnoxious actually wins. I don't care for Dori, but apparently he can win. And at the end of the day, KIRO's FM signal is a HUGE advantage over KOMO's AM, and south sound FM. Give me some facts on why KOMO is better at keeping your drink in your mouth.
Tsktsktsktsk.....KMCQ is SOOO passe.
Today, it's KUOW.![]()
I was trying to come up with a definition for what patterns of interest in many of these discussion boards follow. The closest thing I could come up with is the Pareto Principal that applies here. Although one could argue that it would be closer to the 99-1 rule.. Roughly 99% of the discussion comes from 1% of the actual causes.
KOMO and KIRO-FM are not competitors! KOMO is a 24/7 news station and KIRO-FM is a talk station that runs play-by-play sports simulcasts. They are different formats and go after different demographics.
With a little adjustment of the numbers, Pareto applies to various aspects of radio.
50% of the cume provides over 90% of the AQH listening. The other 50% of a station cume is essentially of no value.
In the case of the forum here, 20% of the stations most discussed get 80% of the actual listening.
In sales, we know that about 20% of the clients provide around 80% of the sales.
