Just heard that starting Monday, The DL Hugley Show will be on "105.7" at 3pm. No mention of the the "Smooth R&B" part...
Yeah I Remember Keith on KNOK. KNOK was my station 50 years ago. Dewayne Dancer and Scott West become mentors to me when I started in this market.
Sounds like they are moving some shit around now.
I believe KJ is going to stick around on weekends, and Micheal Shawn will be back on K104 this weekend.
The voice I miss is Hollywood Henderson. He was a nice man, Hollywood brought many fine people in the industry by being himself. Cultures were different for some of us but, mad respect for him.
Hollywood tied together to community and any man that can bring people together is good people.
Salemjedi54, I am in my upper 50's , was a big KEGL & KJMZ fan back in the day, I am guessing we are near the same age and probably broke in about the same time in the late eighties on different sides of the dial. My weekends at work were listening to Soul73. I am still happy to have worked with a diversified group of broadcasters and respect and love everyone of us.

So it looks like they are keeping 2 Urbans and 1 Urban AC. I wonder if they will move The Beat to 105.7 and KRNB to 97.9???
IMO, that would make sense, but according to what I heard on the promo, DL Hughley said 105.7 is where he is going to be Monday.
It still may happen. It could be some equipment engineering issues to make before the frequency switch could take place.
I really hope so. It would be nice to hear R&B on a signal that covers the whole metroplex.
I remember introducing Dewayne Dancer as the next jock up on an oldies station where I was working that usually carried the ABC/SMN feed. I remembered him from living in DFW years earlier but didn’t remember which station he was at.
I also enjoyed introducing Maria Danza, Chaz Mixon, Hank Murphy, Randy Fuller, and Theresa Brown during my time at that cluster. It made me feel like I was working with my idols growing up.

I'm sure she is, especially since Keith Solis gone. Salem, do you think they will rebrand?
Hard to say at this point, but they may freshen up the logo a bit. We haven’t had a significant change in these formats since KJMZ became KRBV in September of 1995.
I was wondering if they use the same brand that they use in Charlotte, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia. Especially with those call letters.
I apologize if this has been discussed already, but why would Radio One retain some of the staff from Majic and then plug them into the KRNB lineup? It kind of defeats the purpose of buying up a successful station if you're just going to replace it with the staff of your second fiddle operation.
I know there has to be some downsizing, but I'd thought the staff from Majic would've been the ones let go and KRNB the ones retained. I guess it comes down to salaries?
