Anyone know what's up at KEOM? Haven't heard Bass in PM drive for awhile now. Did he quit?

They're a non-profit, student radio station. their 'job' isn't to "get" listeners, their (KEOM's) job is to provide a training ground for student DJ's, their job is to provide a community channel for Mesquite HS sports, community interest activities, etc. Getting listeners is a fringe benefit to whatever else they do.MikeShannon914 said:F-U, dude...I see you're back in your true form. Welcome back. :I guess it would only make sense to ME that a listener stuck in afternoon traffic would want to hear the traffic reports given in clear, concise terms...not with mistakes, guffaws, mispronounced streets, crap like "a wreck at the corner of 635 at LBJ Freeway," or with poor judgment (like giving construction items when there are more pressing incidents like accidents,) etc. Let the kiddoes play during post-AM drive and pre-PM drive, but put a seasoned pro on during the important times. Bass has proven for 22 years that he can handle that.

But If a listener wants traffic in a clear concise terms, they could listen to dozens of other stations in the metroplex. Gee dude, don't YOU do traffic? If I'm really interested in traffic, I can hear it on the 8's. But If I'm listening to KEOM, it's because I want to hear 70's music from a student radio station.
Why not let the "kiddoes" play ALL DAY. Let the best, most experienced, etc do AM or PM drive. Why let a 22 year vet have a spot on a student radio station?
If you're in favor of a "seasoned pro" working at KEOM, does the same hold true for KNTU, KTCU, etc? Why should college students at KNTU or KTCU get airtime in drive times, if there are seasoned pros looking for jobs? Or is it just high school students who suck enough that they need to be replaced by "seasoned pros"

Ah.. I don't think so. He has over 30 + years in syndication. Longer than me!
And yes he'd love to be back on in Dallas.
