Wow, what is with your obsession with her? Dude, it really is creepy.

Hello Everyone:

I am sorry I have not blogged for a while. I have been far too busy getting into the swing of things and frankly, I am not much of a blogger in general. My intent in identifying myself not by a screen name is to try to dispel some rumors. No, Johnny_45, Jackie has not complained about my blogging. We are all starting to work as a team for the shared goal of providing relevant local and pertinent radio to the Capital Region. So any end fighting is long gone - if there was any to begin with.

I can't believe it has been a month! I don't know if any of you have listened in but I would love your feedback. All I am trying to accomplish is a show like the one I have in the Berkshires, less the music of course. I have never claimed to be an intellectual rather someone who matriculates into a market and makes it important to them. I can honestly say that after just one short month - I am already starting to get the pulse of the area. I have a long way to go but with each passing day the show and the market becomes more familiar to me. Wow! What a wondeful area this is.

Sherman,
I like your show--it's a breath of fresh air. I always felt like I needed to take a shower after listening to Mark Williams. The best advice I could give is to try to keep it local. We are bombarded with the national issues no matter where we turn--it's good to hear some good local talk. Good job on landing guests--keep up the good work.

Sherman,
Why NOT add a little music?
During the 1960s Big Blackout, WTRY Troy was the only station on the air for hundreds of miles around. Even during that uncertain time, they played ONE song: Sonny & Cher's "Baby Don't Go."
WGY played music on the morning show for a long time after music left AM radio.
Would it hurt to play a song that might relate to a topic or bring back a fun memory?

(I'm NOT talking about playing crap that people can hear anywhere, anytime. Find a few tunes that are long gone from radio. For example, The Seekers "I'll Never Find Another You," a monster hit in the mid-60s - I think it was 67 or 68 The Seekers outsold The Beatles!)

You might also want to research the hundreds of old hits "banned" by clear channel!

Keep up the great work, Sherman, you are our hope here at ABC!
