One footnote: Can anyone note any sitcom that has gone on to be part of the tv culture as much as Gilligan did in just three years? If someone would have asked me how long this series lasted, I would have answered 5 seasons atleast. But, no, just three seasons. This might have been mentioned earlier, but Sherwood wrote the theme to the show.

I don't believe any network has the rights to Gilligan's Island, and it's been at least five years since TV Land last carried it. I'm not sure if Warner Brothers took the show of syndication or what, but AOL's In2TV service (I believe) still carries the show.

same exact date.
...perhaps you're thinking of Sidney Sheldon (The Patty Duke Show, I Dream of Jeannie), who died in 2007?...Robnoxious said:I could have sworn Sherwood Schwartz died year ago.
Trivia: Alan called Barney Fife his "Little Buddy" in one "Andy Griffith Show" episode before he ever did "Gilligan".gregg75 said:I MESSED THAT UP............. Alan Hale was in the westerns, not Bob Denver.
