Your belaboring of this issue isn't going to change anything.
Sadly you're right. Because people who work in radio are short sighted and don't see how our industry is being destroyed. They're happy to sit on their hands and do nothing while fellow talent is being personally destroyed. For what? Because they think an open spot somewhere means their sorry behinds can get off the beach. They are happy when guys at the top get fired because they are petty and jealous. It's disgusting.
And I've read my employee handbook several times. It doesn't mention anything about this sort of nonsense because I work for a company that VALUES talent and lets us live our lives as we please. I show up for work, do an FCC compliant show, get good ratings and sell lots of ads. That's all they ask of me.
If I DID misbehave online in a way that's NOT ILLEGAL, the first response wouldn't be to fire me. When someone starts up an outrage campaign, they stand by me. Because THAT is what GOOD COMPANIES DO. SiriusXM is not a good company. They're garbage. There wasn't even a boycott. Not even a THREAT of a boycott. The outrage machine is so efficient now, all they have to do is throw out the magic "r" word, and people get fired.
As I've said before. If you don't think that's dangerous, get the hell out of this business. You're part of the problem.
