Should 96.1 Flip To Talk?

The overwhelming majority of listening on WBT occurs between 6am and 7pm during the week. Even if what you’re saying about the signal at night is true, why would Radio One care? They’re not flipping LNK any time soon.
Radio One may indeed be satisfied with the performance of Mix 107.9, and have no plans to flip. Despite a trend of AM talk moving to an FM signal, such as WSB in Atlanta now on 95.5 and WORD in the Upstate now on 98.9. But overall WBT reaches its designated area and beyond, whether it be 11.10, 99.3, or 107.9-HD3.

Bump. 96.1 is definitely vulnerable for a change with U1 moving Mix to two rimshot frequencies. 96.1 at the behest of 102.9 may very well flip to Hot AC to fill the void. But I still think in my heart of hearts that talk will be the new format - especially with WBT moving to the blowtorch 107.9.

96.1 won't be flipping, especially to Talk.

Can I recommend a good cardiologist for @DToTheJ so he can have his heart of hearts examined? 😜

New (or old depending on how you look at it) morning show debuting on Monday.
Looks like they’re bringing TJ & Riggins back. There’s already unpublished pages on their website.

Brotha Fred and Ace and TJ are the only former morning shows available.

Looks like TJ will be on WHQC in the morning and WBT at night. Interesting.

Well I was thinking maybe they would bring back Brotha Fred, but apparently not. Since he is on other iHeart stations and a familiar voice. But TJ is also a former morning host from both 95.1 and 96.1, so that may work also.

As announced on-air this morning, The Fred Show debuts on January 5.

That makes a lot of sense. Should perform better than Miguel and Holly. I listened this morning, and they sound horrible musically. I can see exactly why their ratings are so poor.

That's what I was thinking after all. Hopefully a good move and return to a previously popular and familiar voice. Now just tweak the music mix a bit to differentiate from 95.1. Should they return to more of a rhythmic CHR like back when they were 96.1 The Beat?
