Should CBS Radio fire Don Imus

"Jimmy the Greek" shouldn't have been fired, either. What HE said was proven scientific fact. Again, he was fired by CBS. Personally, if a person is speaking the truth, why should they be tried and convicted. Imus should have been reprimanded/suspended for what he said, but not fired. It seems, as in many situations these days, people want to hear a convincing lie, rather than the truth.

And thus, the end of racism in America!!

Imus has been edgy and offensive for years. It was part of his act. Of course, he offended everyone!

I was thinking this morning about this! What is the difference in Imus' name-calling in connection with the Rutgers Women's Basketball team and Jessie Jackson's use of Himey Town to refer to the people of New York. Here are the differences I could come up with:

1- The number of people - 10-12 basketball players vs 8-million people in NYC.
2- The comment was directed towards the people on the team - was the Himey Town remarked just directed at the city, or at the people in the city? (NY population about 13% Jewish - compared to 34% Catholic).
3- Jackson was off the map for a few days, but continued to make money without having a job? Imus lost two jobs.

Imus will be back in some form. I suspect his buddy at Sirius might find him a channel.
