Shouldn't RXP be playing the new Green Day single?

that's cool, but there's a new CD released in May produced by Todd Rundgren, and I'll be interested in seeing what reaction if any that gets...
David(Buster Poindexter) Johansen's unique vocals would certainly jazz up the remaining rock stations out there...

For what it's worth, I heard Matt Pinfield on WFNX here in Boston on a syndicated interview session with Depeche Mode last nite...not sure if it was an RXP thing syndicated that FNX was playing but it was great to hear him on the radio and it reminded me of the old 120 Minutes days..

Also, is it true that Z100 played Metallica's "Enter Sandman" this morning (Yes.com seems to think so)?

It is true...to some extent. Elvis & crew opened the show with the first 2 or 3 minutes of the song & mentioned that "they thought it'd be a good idea to open the show with some Metallica".

Now that I've heard the new Green Day single about 15 times or so. It's really not that great of a song.

YES station's should play it, cause it's a long awaited first single from a very established band, but the shine isn't going to last long. It sounds like an American Idiot b-side. I'll bet the 2nd single will be the money single. Crossover hit.

It's already #1 on the Alternative charts and is crossing over to CHR. I think it's a great song and will probably be a hit (not as much as the AI singles, but still a big one). Of course, on RXP, you'll have to suffer through dinosaur rock to hear it, but that's another story...

It's not going to test and will be a memory by June. Mark my words.

Funny you say that, because I really liked the song during the first week I heard it. But now it seems very redundant, especially the lyrics.

When I first heard the portion of the song used in some college basketball broadcast, then I thought it would be really good. When I heard the whole thing, I was a bit disappointed because I thought there would be more to it. And the more I hear it, the less I like it. There's a chance that I might appreciate it more in the context of the album, but taken on its own, it's kinda weak.
