That said, I think they made a huge mistake in throwing away Leslie Winkle as a foil for Sheldon (much more effective than Kripke - or "Kwipke"), and as a source of temptation for Leonard and Howard.
I agree, both from the anti-Sheldon perspective and also as a sometime partner for Leonard (to take some of the companion pressure off Penny). I don't think that she was "dumped" though. She already had a commitment to a daytime talk show.

IMHO we don't need yet another homosexual pairing on TV. And Raj always seemed to be more feminine than "jumping the fence". The trick with his persona is finding someone that is both a love interest and antagonist in the same frame as Penny and Leonard. Otherwise he would be just half of a pair of lovebirds and the humor might deflate. Lucy is a very weird character so far. Hard to tell what direction that might take. It is almost as if the writers are waiting to find out whether she is accepted by the audience before committing to further stories with her.
I always thought Raj and Priya (Artie Mann) made an interesting pair of siblings and thought they might cohabitate at one time. It would have been a different spin on the old boyfriend-girlfriend pairings.

Penny's "dad" made an an appearance already (which I thought was one of the better episodes) so the producers need to find in the mother someone believable as his wife. Katey could certainly pull it off and she already has acting chemistry with Kaley but she is already tied up with that show she produces I think (unless it has ended by now). I am not familiar with Cynthia.
