Shows That Overstayed Their Welcome.

Tuna, I agree. BBT has evolved into much more of an ensemble show, much as Cheers did in later seasons. I think the show has improved over time. That said, I think they made a huge mistake in throwing away Leslie Winkle as a foil for Sheldon (much more effective than Kripke - or "Kwipke"), and as a source of temptation for Leonard and Howard.

I agree, both from the anti-Sheldon perspective and also as a sometime partner for Leonard (to take some of the companion pressure off Penny). I don't think that she was "dumped" though. She already had a commitment to a daytime talk show.

Looking forward to seeing how the Raj - Lucy relationship develops. I really thought Raj was going to end up with Stuart.

IMHO we don't need yet another homosexual pairing on TV. And Raj always seemed to be more feminine than "jumping the fence". The trick with his persona is finding someone that is both a love interest and antagonist in the same frame as Penny and Leonard. Otherwise he would be just half of a pair of lovebirds and the humor might deflate. Lucy is a very weird character so far. Hard to tell what direction that might take. It is almost as if the writers are waiting to find out whether she is accepted by the audience before committing to further stories with her.

I always thought Raj and Priya (Artie Mann) made an interesting pair of siblings and thought they might cohabitate at one time. It would have been a different spin on the old boyfriend-girlfriend pairings.

We haven't seen Penny's mother yet. I wonder who they'll cast. Katey Sagal? Cynthia Geary?

Penny's "dad" made an an appearance already (which I thought was one of the better episodes) so the producers need to find in the mother someone believable as his wife. Katey could certainly pull it off and she already has acting chemistry with Kaley but she is already tied up with that show she produces I think (unless it has ended by now). I am not familiar with Cynthia.

The seventh season will start in the Fall, yet her last name has still never been mentioned--or has it? I suppose they can save it for the inevitable series finale where she marries Leonard.

Cynthia Geary played Shelley on "Northern Exposure." In one surreal episode, Kaley played her about-to-be-born daughter at age seven.

I don't think so. Even when her dad was on the show he was called by his first name only.

Given Chuck Lorre's penchant for classic TV references, maybe her last name is "Marshall." Or maybe "Cartwright" or "Robinson."

How about "Lane"..with none of the others getting the reference? :)(Maybe Bernadette?)

She is the only character whose last name has never been mentioned. Maybe as a jab to Charlie Sheen Chuck Lorre will give her the last name of Harper or even Sheen.
