Really? Has they?

hear people like Bill o Reilly for example criticizing when Rock star's
talk about doing drugs, alcohol, sex even suicide as an alternative. That's
okay they are just expressing themselves. But when a rapper broaches the
same subject's they should be taken off the air. If your going to be critical
and "fair and balanced". Then stop singling out one form of music.

For the most part, That is true but there are some music artist whom want to shock the mainstream to get paid or notice .nightcrawler35 said:Push This! said:nightcrawler35 said:I'm talking about the double standard that exists. You don't

Do you even know what in the hell is the issue here?
Your answer should be "no, I don't" because you don't!
The issue here is not a song about sex, drugs, alcohol or suicide. The issue here is a rap song endoring KILLING someone. It would help if people like you would actually READ the story BEFORE commenting. And don't tell me or anybody else on this forum you did read because if you did, I wouldn't have had to point out to you what THE issue at hand is.
And rock stars HAVE been criticized for similar actions/words as well. IIRC, wasn't just a few years ago Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam found his own fans responding in shock and disgust over something he was doing involving a picture of GW Bush and being impaled? That created more of a national reaction than this has.
So, to review, in case you lost focus already, "one form of music" isn't being "singled out." If a mainstream group released a song containing the same type of "suggestion", it would be an issue as well.
Rap music is a reflection of whats going on. It's scenarios kids in the inner city have had to deal with long
before rap went mainstream. Just like rock is reflection of other parts of life. Sometimes it's not pretty. Which
leads to my point which im going to make for the last time. Instead of condemning maybe we should listen and
learn. So that we can teach our children alternatives.
and Football players die early . Policeman has a high marriage annul rate and Radio personalities has a HIGH Pink slip rate ( 2008 Pink is flying HIGH ) .LouBertoni said:nightcrawler35 said:It really is annoying when people who really don't know anything

Ah, art is only for those who understand it.
And anyone that criticize it must not understand it, right?
Art for the elite only....right?

Well, if you think of all the rock stars that died of drug overdoses....they were right. Living the lifestyle, it brought many of them death.

Now look at all of the rappers who have died....

I guess that saying it's "bad" means I don't understand it.....
